Huge UFO "took my breath away"
A gleaming silver object was seen hovering over Putney, London, on
9 March 2006. Michelle Me-hat was sitting in her office and
happened to look out of the window when her attention was caught
by a strange object in the sky. According to Ms Medh-t, it was
****ny and pyramid-shaped and seemed to spin or rotate in the sky.
Visibility was perfect at the time. "The sun was hitting the
object and you could see it was turning very slowly. I did get a
feeling there was something strange about it," she said.
Ms Me-hat then called a colleague, Peter Gar-iner, to have a look.
They both watched it for some time. Mr Ga-diner first thought that
he was seeing "a large clear tarpaulin", but "then it glistened
and it was ****ny. It had a strange pattern of movement. It was a
significant size, possibly the size of a roof or even a house".
The two colleagues watched the craft for several minutes, as it
rotated and eventually headed off and vanished from sight. "I
can't explain it and therefore I'm calling it a UFO. It took my
breath away," said Ms Me-hat. "The more I looked at it I realized
there was something not quite right. It wasn't moving like

THE ENVIRONMENT -- A COMPILATION
Awareness of ecological problems, and the im****tance of the urgent
need to find solutions to protect and restore our environment, has
increased enormously over the last 30 years. Many people are
involved throughout the world in such activities as this month's
various articles and re****ts illustrate.
A general motif running through *Share International's* June issue
is that of environmental problems, in particular those connected
with the use of nuc-ear fission as a source of energy. The
following excerpt is from a compilation focusing on the challenges
and current dangers as well as the great promise and possibilities
of a safer and healthier future for the planet and all life on it.
Maitreya, the Wo-ld Teacher, says that after the saving of the
starving millions, the environment is the number one priority in
the world, and that it is the responsibility of every man, woman
and child to reverse the destruction we are currently wreaking on
this planet.
We present a selection of excerpts on the theme of the environment
from Maitreya (*Messages from Maitreya the Chr-st*, and
*Maitreya's Teachings -- The Laws of Life*), Benjamin Creme's
Ma-ter (*A Mas-er Speaks*) and Benjamin Creme's writings.
*I come to take you with Me into the New Country -- the Country
of Love, the Country of Trust, of Beauty and Freedom. I shall take
you there if you can follow Me, accept Me, let Me lead and guide.
And, if this be so, together we shall build a N-w World: a world
in which men can live without fear, without mistrust, without
division; sharing together the Earth's bounty, knowing together
the Bliss of Union with our Source. All this can be yours.

*When Maitreya appears*, He will address the major problems which
now beset humanity: the misery of the starving -- the dire poverty
of millions condemned to living h-ll; the many w-rs now raging,
known or unheard; the vast ar-y of refugees, displaced and
discarded; the prisoners of conscience whose voices are muted in
pain. Maitreya will call for a greater responsibility for the
planet's health: the creation of an economy sustainable and fair;
the husbandry of resources to safeguard future generations; the
purification of the environment -- the air, the soil, the waters,
on which all life depends. These Maitreya will address and offer
His solutions.... Maitreya will call for everyone to join His ar-y
of helpers -- to sustain and purify the environment; to galvanize
the peoples into action on their own behalf; to cleanse the planet
of polluting toxins and to re-establish harmony among the nations.
His task is not little but He stands ready to fi-ht the present
ev-l -- and to con-uer.

*The environment* has become the top priority today. Within a few
years, the priority will be mind, spi-it and body, in the life of
an individual.

*We are beginning to realize* what we are doing to our environment
-- that we are gradually ki-ling off the planet as a living,
breathing, evolving body of expression of a Great Cosmic Being
which, of course, the planet is. We are beginning to see that we
cannot go on despoiling the planet, polluting the air, rivers and
oceans. More and more, concerned groups have brought this to the
attention of gover-ments. At long last, many govern-ents meet on a
more or less regular basis to discuss the problems and see what
can be done about them. That is a new maturity, a growing sense by
humanity that it is One, brothers and sisters of one humanity, on
this planet to carry out some plan, some role, which is as yet
dimly felt by most people. That we are, at last, taking seriously
what individual groups have for long brought to the notice of
governm-nts is a sign that we are recognizing our vulnerability
and also our oneness. We are maturing.

*People are concerned about the environment*. Observe how this is
happening around the world. If you want to feel that you are part
of the Almighty, the environment becomes the mirror for the Self
to realize that it is part of the entire creation. Awareness leads
to looking into the environment. A clean, neat and tidy
environment brings you closer to G-d. Even a few years ago, no
pol-tician took the environment seriously. Now the concern is
there. (Maitreya, *The Laws of Life*)
*The early signs of a new global consciousness* can be seen as men
realize the need for co-operation in dealing with their
environmental problems. This augers well for the future and shows
correct response to a major danger facing the ra-e: unless the
damage now being done to the environmental balance of the planet
is quickly restored, the life expectancy of many will dramatically
decrease. No one, rich or poor, is totally free from this
insidious breakdown of the human immune system. Men tamper with
that system at their peril.

*If the environment is not restored*, in a very short time there
will be no new civilization. There will be no planet. We have
probably another 20 to 30 years in which to restore this planet to
health. Again the key to this change is the acceptance of the
principle of sharing. We also have to create a sustainable
economy, one which uses only resources which are renewable and
correctly husbanded for future generations. The present economy
enjoyed by the developed world is completely non-sustainable. If
we continue as we are doing now, there will be no forests;
pollution of the rivers, the seas, the air, the land will be so
tremendous that dis-ase will decimate humanity.
Pollution, according to the Ma-ters, is already the number one
ki-ler in the world. It so diminishes the activity of the immune
system that people suc***b to many diseases such as pneumonia,
influenza, AI-S, HIV and so on. The very air we breathe, the
water, the soil, is totally polluted and we are destroying the
very planet which we need for our continued existence and that of
our children.
One of the major things which will happen after the Day of
Declar-tion is the turning of the attention of humanity really
strongly to the cleaning up of the environment and making this
Earth viable again. Every human being, of whatever age, will be
involved in this process. As soon as the needs of the starving
millions are met, as soon as the process of sharing is under way,
then the attention of all must turn to the sup****t of our
eco-systems, otherwise there will be no planet.
Maitreya Himself has said that the saving of the environment must
become the first priority of *all* people, young and old. Since we
have to do this to survive, I have no doubt that -- with Maitreya
and His group of Maste-s and initiates working openly as advisers
-- we shall do it.

America's Moral Crisis*.

1977-1981. On leaving office he and his wife Rosalynn founded the
nonprofit Cart-r Center in Atlanta. His international humanitarian
work earned him the Nobel Pea-e Prize in 2002. In *Our Endan-ered

call to America to address the threat to its historic moral
values.
