The Indiana Biological Association told me they had a journal, but was not
qualified to publish in it. I have just found the foundation source for
this
assocation:
The 11th Annual re****t, 1961, of the National Science Foundation. The
Indiana Biological association was not registered, and this re****t
explains,
on page 100: "Association" in this context does not imply the necessity
for
any cor****ate or legal entity." On page 99 it mentons that such an
'assoiaition" "together [with NSF] present a program that shows promise
....[and they] may submit a proposal for sup****t" [to teachers, clleges,
universities, and students}.
They also mention "conferences and seminars; exchange of professors and
library materials...of equipment; and joint use of physical facilities and
other activities..."
This is why they had the authority to rcommend my paper to the Academy. I
was unable to get it published with the AAAS journal because it as too
prestigious, but was invited to get it published with the Aademy. I
couldn;t
do that, finally, because of being removed by my parents for wanting to
become a nun.
I remembered the link to the National science Foundation and found the
re****t. The Indiana Biological association was never reguistered bcause
it
existed as an arm of the National Science Foundation solely for the
purpose
of facilitating research efforts by college students, scientists and
teachers, i this case, the biological sciences.
I received a grant from the Natinal Science Foundation. to continue my
research, also re****ted. This is one example of how i was mentored with
that grant money....this conference was under the auspices of the NSF...
after the passage of some forty years, I no longer had the do***ents, but
still had the memories, and newspaper articles.
Thank you, JVB
