Alyea Confirms Hill's Transmission re Shots from the Window below
It's as simple as ABC. At 12:37, a Dallas patrolman, outside in
Dealey, radioed the coordinates of the depository shooter, and news
photographer Tom Alyea, inside the depository, minutes after this
police-radio call, confirmed these coordinates:
A) Patrolman LL Hill (22): "It is believed that them shots came
from, as you're facing it on Elm, looking towards the building...."
Alyea: "A uniformed policeman called out, 'Take a look at
this'...." (5/7/98 e-mail)
B) 22: "...it would be... at the second window from the end."
Alyea: "We saw the three shell casings... in front of the twin window
to the right [looking out]" (5/7/98 & 5/18/98 e-mail)
C) 22: "It would be the upper right hand corner...." [the only
second window open at 12:30 in this corner was on the fifth floor]
Alyea: "First, [our search party] went to the fifth floor." (Pictures
of the Pain p521)
Alyea, inside, complements Hill, outside, in describing the location
of the shooter, on the fifth floor. To which floor did Alyea's party
go first? And who would have known to go directly to the fifth floor--
bypassing the four floors below--second window from the end? Not
surprising, then, that Hill had to be replaced, outside, by fellow
officer Clyde Haygood, and, inside, by Deputy Sheriff Luke Mooney....
