Does anyone in your paranoid world ever make an honest error? Hosty was
not at the scene of Tippit's murder and never saw the wallet in question.
He heard the story from FBI agent Robert M. Barrett -- who saw the wallet=
,
but never examined its contents. In other words, Hosty's account was thir=
d
hand.

Dallas WFAA-TV cameraman Ron Reiland, who was there and who filmed the
police officers examining the wallet, said it was Tippit=92s wallet.

Nowhere in the testimony or the re****ts of Dallas police officers
Westbrook, Hill, Doughty, or Poe, is the wallet mentioned.

It remains an unsolved, and endlessly debatable, mystery.
