Hmmmm, Two things! I take exception to quotes out-of-context,
especially since I'm almost sure that wasn't me who wrote that. Please
let me explain!

(1), I don't claim my typing is perfect or even near-perfect, but I
don't think I would have typed "thins" when I meant to type "things".
I was proofreading and editing for Joint Publications Research
Services in the Federal Government in the mid-1970's, and years later,
for George Litho, a big San Francisco printing company, so my typos
really are few and far between. (C'mon! You have to admit that!) And
even while I was still in college, in my spare time I spent a couple
of years by editing and typing manuscripts for Prof. Emeritus William
Hermanns, Einstein's friend, (who appears as the 'go between' for
re****ters interviewing Einstein and later reproduced in the 1955 'In
Memoriam' issue in Life Magazine),

(2) What you might or might not know is that dozens of FAKE MESSAGES
with my full name "Edvins" (which I very seldom use) were posted to
several USENET groups in the 2000--2004 period, by avowed enemies like
the notorious Cujo, Der Coach, and others. If you look at the full
headers on those messages you will see they were not the same as the
headers of the REAL messages I was posting at that very same time, and
what those SPOOFS did is post dozens of stupid, witless, messages and
made them look as if it was me that posted them. Messages about my
affections for my chihuahua, my mother, or my daydreams abou "ponies",
silly and stupid and lame things that nobody but an idiot would think
I really would have posted on the Internet!

Now, as for your dislike of MY mild-mannered marketing strategy, or
perhaps ANY marketing strategy, I don't know your personal situation,
perhaps you've never written a book that you were proud of and wished
other people would have a look at it. Or, maybe you inherited such a
great amount of wealth that you have "risen above" the very notion of
'earning a living?' Or, perhaps you are living in a socialist
paradise and can thus afford to be so dismissive about the capitalism
with a small "c" that I'm practicing when I write, publish and try to
sell me own book titles, short story collections, etc? Well, even if
you are a non-writer, plutocrat or socialist, you should still keep
in mind there are other folks who may feel differently, folks like me
who fall into a combination of two 'cl*****': (a) CREATOR, An author
and/or inventor of things like books and services. Hey, even
professors in their ivy-towered bastions have to publish or perish.,
even scientists sometimes "come up with something new", and (b)
MERCHANT. Yes, unless you've got a government grant, a rich wife, a
cushy job of some kind where somebody else is footing the bill, you
may fall into a category where selling a product or service is
mandatory for obtaining the means for survival. I wish I didn't have
to be an active merchant of any kind, that's why I came out with my
recent paperbacks, so they would stand a chance of selling themselves
on the open market, with me giving just the slightest little push, by
providing a forum here or there where they can be glimpsed and
popularized.

I don't know what your particular niche is, but I will gladly grant
you your niche, but hopefully you will grant me mine. Or, even if you
won't grant me a niche, please do look back on messages from the
2000--2004 period when I had so many enemies on the web, (skeptics who
still assume every astrologer is a con-man of some kind, and with whom
I fought tooth and nail about the very legitimacy of astrology) with a
more skeptical eye about "Edvins Augusts" posts, because I know of at
least three dozen messages that were written by some malicious
spoofer, and "credited" to my author****p... And, anyway! I have
written more than twenty books, yes, they are about a variety of
subjects, they are not all spiritual flights, by any means, but on the
other hand, I am not peddling Viagra or designer luggage, I'm not
selling round-trip tickets to Mumbai or Shanghai or London.

So I am concerned that you are so dismissive and negative about my
occasional attempts to direct readers to my various sites, such as my
cool Google site: .http://groups.google.com/group/BOOK-ADVENTURES-
with-Ed-Augusts , or my Yahoo Astrology site:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group=
/ASTRO_PSYCHIC/
Can you explain more about that, please? Is it personal? Or
generic?

Best, ------Ed
