I saw the change coming in 2000 and have been pounding the pulpit ever
since. I think it is wrong to bring children to BM, and as a Ranger who
talks to the cops alot, I know the cops use kids to enforce the rules.
Remember the Jiffy Lube deal in 2002? Remember all the urinating in
public
tickets in 2000? It's all about kids, and safety for kids. Yep, soon we
will be just another big camping trip. Did anyone notice the lack of
large
scale art? Or the lack of huge burning art? Safety for children is the
issue here. As long as we have idiots who insist on bringing their
children
we will have to adhere to safety and child friendly environments. Maybe
the
adults in the community who don't want a child friendly environment should
stage BURNING MAN EXTREME just up the playa from the current event on the
same date and make it an 18 or over event only. We can leave all the
families to camp with First Camp and have a Burning Man event of our own.
