I had a depersonalization experience on July 27. I am planning to slowly
experiment with this state of consciousness. I don't see it so much as a
pathological condition as much as a "new" state of awareness for our
species. I can sort of "touch and go" with it at anytime, but I have not
allowed myself to enter it 100% because it's new to me and I want to take
it
slowly.
One of the effects was "watching myself as if within a movie", everything
seemed scripted somehow and I could also predict things happening a few
seconds in advance. I also found my "self" moving, walking, and talking,
all
seemingly without any effort or control by my higher "Self" (the
"disembodied" consciousness).
As far as other personalities, I have not experienced that. I have
experienced a "split" as it were, between my "self" (as the world sees it)
and
my actual "higher" consciousness, which became a mainly passive observer.
But I was only aware of one consciousness. The "self" (ego?) seemed to be
on
a kind of "auto-pilot" and seemed to operate relatively independently of
my
higher "Self".
Thoughts on this would be appreciated. I am 38 and on medication (Zyprexa
and Neurontin) for bi-polar illness.
