The technique employed by "Dr" Turi is exactly the same as those that have
always been used by fake spiritualists and psychics everywhere. He keeps
his
predictions so vague that they could apply to anyone or anything, and then
retroactively claims "hits" by twisting news stories to fit his
"prophesies". Back in October last year I saved a copy of his web pages to
my hard drive to see how his predictions panned out. Here are a few quotes
to show just how specific he is.
"Expect surprising developments everywhere"
I'm sorry, could you be a little more vague please?
"Expect incredible news involving explosions, nature's forces at work,
electronics, UFOs, celestial bodies, etc. soon!"
Kind of missed the boat on that one, didn't you? If you'd been a month
earlier (Iran earthquake, Dec 26) maybe we'd be impressed.
"Expect a well-know figure to pass away soon."
In any given month, you can pretty much guarantee that at least a couple
of
celebs are going to pop their clogs. Care to name names?
"Some well-known entertainment figures may make dramatic news."
Well, they wouldn't be well-known and entertaining if they didn't make the
news from time to time, would they?
"Keep an eye on the children; Uranus will make them behave irrationally,
they will be overactive and you do not want anything bad to happen."
I think you'll find that kids have always been overactive and irrational,
and it doesn't take Uranus or anyone else's to figure that they're going
to
stay that way.
"The Neptunian world of creativity and imagination fused with the
futuristic
sign of Aquarius has a lot to offer cinema goers."
So there'll be a film released this month, will there? Damn, that crystal
ball's really working overtime, isn't it?
I could go on, but the rest of it is pretty much in the same vein. In the
few instances where he does get specific, he's hopelessly and consistantly
wrong. The guy talks utter bollocks, and anyone who takes him seriously
enough to give him money needs more help than any fake psychic is going to
provide.

"And we'll be saying a big hello to all intelligent life forms everywhere.
And to everyone else out there, the secret is to bang the rocks together,
guys."
