I invite everyone to read my new, improved "Little Angel" tale!
That's right, you heard me: new, improved:
Little Angel Who Wouldn't Fly

No, it's not what you expect; he still refuses to fly. But my tale is
now ILLUSTRATED!!!
Little Angel was the first tale I wrote, that debuted my collection
"Parables for the 21st Century", way way back in 1988. (Though writ in
'84, the idea for my Parables came in '88.) It was also one of three
tales I slipped through the mail slot in the door of Randolph Taylor's
last apartment in S.F....before he moved back east two months later,
and SHOT himself (and survived)...thus beginning the GREATEST odyssey
in my entire friggin' life.
And it's STILL goin' on, and won't ever STOP. (Not that I want it to.)

Yes, and it's VETERANS DAY as I write this. Did NOT occur to me to
breathe new life into Little Angel as a memorium to Randolph (a
Vietnam Veteran as well as gay activist). But when I completed the
illustration upgrade, I kicked back and wished Randolph a happy V-day.
And THAT'S when I heard him whisper in my ear:
"I always loved that story. Remember in my letters to you when I lay
at death's door in the D.C. Veteran's Hospital: I addressed you in my
letters as Little Angel many times. So, I want you to have a wonderful
Veterans Day filled with dignity, joy, and really really EXCELLENT
grade reefer."
But he doesn't stop there; he now whispers this, as I write:
"Your lovely MOTHER is with me, and she is working with me and various
other sweet souls, to pave your way to success, prosperity, joy, and
most of all: GAY LIBERATION. She's never been happier! Remind your
FATHER that the woman suffering dementia is but an empty husk,
inhabited by an angel actor in order to perform the death-drama thang.
Just as Odin showed you in your vision some years back, which he
instructed you to compose and share with the world."

It'll be a while before I get to illustrating THAT piece. So many
tales to illustrate and so MUCH time...an ETERNITY in fact!

It will be about a FAT little angel, who decides to go on a diet.
