I don't see any markings on google earth. Follow my waypoints to the
spring. Then follow the road until you reach
N37 32 45.5 W117 03 12.2
The "white" road overlay is not correct on Google Earth, but if you
zoom in, you can see the actual road from the satellite image. That is
where I would suggest you stop driving a SUV. It is a place where at
least you could turn the vehicle around. However, you only saved a
mile, so you might be better off parking near the spring. [I hate
blocking any road, even if the odds of someone else using it are nill.
Some ass parked a grader on the road near Queen City Summit, forcing
people to drive on the brush.]]

This is my guess for the route. Remember, you don't climb the actual
peak since that is restricted.
Looking at my GPS trail, I quit the hike at this location
N37 32 17.0 W117 02 44.7
Then I climbed up to this hill to shoot some of the photographs
N37.5385 W117.044
That hike was pretty easy. The altitude is 6070ft, while the final
viewing location is 8038. You can see how the instructions indicate it
is a 5 hour hike.
That pretty much exhausts what I know of the area. I may do the hike,
but it won't be with the telescope in my backpack.
