A Federal jury has convicted former Hollywood P.I. Anthony Pellicano
on 76 or 77 counts of racketeering and related crimes. Could get up to
20 years in the slammer. It's of peripheral interest here because
Pellicano helped George O'Toole with the "Assassination Tapes."
Pellicano did a phone interview with Wes Frasier using a voice stress
analyzer to detect any lies.
Pellicano, meanwhile, lied through his teeth, used a phony name, phony
accent, claimed to be a newspaperman and misinformed Frasier of the
purpose of the interview. O'Toole used similar tactics on occasion,
so the book did succeed in identifying two liars: Pellicano &
O'Toole.
