King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has called on followers of the world's
main religions to turn away from extremism and embrace a spirit of
reconciliation.
The king was opening a conference in Madrid which brings together
Muslims, Christians, Jews and Buddhists.
He said the great conflicts of history were not caused by religion, but
by the misinterpretation of religion.
King Juan Carlos of Spain, the co-host, said Spain had always sought to
promote international dialogue.
Critics have dismissed the gathering as a propaganda gimmick by the
Saudis who, they say, are not best placed to host a meeting on religious
tolerance.
Wahhabism, the strain of Sunni Islam that is officially practiced in
Saudi Arabia, is considered one of the religion's most conservative and
intolerant forms.
"My brothers, we must tell the world that differences don't need to lead
to disputes," King Abdullah said.
"The tragedies we have experienced throughout history were not the fault
of religion but because of the extremism that has been adopted by some
followers of all the religions, and of all political systems."
Correspondents say King Abdullah has made reaching out to other faiths a
hallmark of his rule since becoming king in 2005. He is the first
reigning Saudi monarch to meet the Pope, for example.
In June, Abdullah held a religious conference in Mecca in which
participants pledged improved relations between Islam's two main
branches, Sunni and ****a Islam.
The conference is sponsored by Saudi Arabia and is billed as a strictly
religious, non-political affair.
It is off limits to journalists apart from the inaugural session.

It seems to be a staggering concept, that the King of a nation which
sup****ts one of the world's most intolerant religions, and one of the
most conservative and intolerant sect of that religion, would be calling
for co-operation from the world's more liberal and tolerant religions.
Does the idea "first remove the beam from your own eye" occur to anyone?
ONE WORLD CHURCH
Another is the effort to establish a "One World Religion." For some time
now several major religious Establishments (Notably, for several
reasons, the Catholic Church) have been working toward unification into
a single body. However, this seemed to mostly involve Christian
Protestant Bodies. Now, in this meeting, there are Muslims, Christians,
Jews and Buddhists.

The other thing I notice, is that the European Union is working toward
unification into a single Nation, or an Empire of nations under one
Government with a single leader (King, President or Prime Minister).
Of the present monarchs of (in) Europe, only Juan Carlos has been
actively campaigning for the Unification of Modern Rome -- and that's
because he wants (expects) to be the King of Modern Rome.

A Fulfillment of Prophecy?
Is the establishment of a One World Religion under a One World
Government a fulfillment of Prophecy?
Yes!
This One World Government and One World Religion is depicted in Rev 13
and Dan 7:2-8. And see: Dan 2:41-44; 8:9-14, 21-26; 9:27, Mat 24:9-13,
15-21; 2 Thes 2:2-12 and many others. All of these prophecies, in one
way or another, using various symbols and metaphors, describe Satan's
conquest of the world, his claim to be "God" and his war against God's
People. See Dan 11:21-45, which is the best, most sequential description
of end time events.
Here's my point. Human and world events are NOW a fulfillment of End
Time Prophecy. End Time prophecy is happening NOW, BEFORE YOUR VERY
EYES! Yet, while these prophecies are being fulfilled NOW, the major
religions of the World, and in particular, "Futurism" and "Preterism"
all deny this truth, this reality.
This generation will not all die before all the prophecy of the coming
of the Lord and end of this world are fulfilled.
