But these aren't isolated kooks.  These are a sizeable fraction of the 
entire Christian Right.  These are the "isolated kooks" that took over the

Southern Baptist Convention.  These are the "isolated kooks" that are 
currently taking over the United Methodist Church.  These are the modern 
incarnation of Calvinist Puritans and they aren't small and they aren't 
isolated.
