Not sure why you pretend that the observation that once there were no 
rats, the observation that there are rats now, the observation that 
animals only arise by genetically imperfect reproduction and natural 
selection from ancestors, and the observation of fossils of rat ancestors 
equate to rat evolution not being observed. I suspect it's because you 
realize how ridiculous the Theory Of The Wizard's Breath is and you're 
desparate for some way to deny your insanity, but I'm not *sure*.

Except of course in those vast majority of cases where the mutation is 
neutral and those few where it's beneficial.

Rationalizations, lies, and quotes of myths by idiots who still believe 
their parents' lies about there really being wizards and ghosts =/= 
"debunking". That there is a magic spell on all DNA worldwide which 
enables it to know what beneficial changes it could undergo and decide 
not to undergo them is another psychotic belief of which you morons need 
relieving.

The fossils, the genes, and the specimens are observable etc. anytime by 
anybody (with qualifications), as is the utter absence of magic from 
reality. And anybody is free to come up with a theory that explains it 
all, like the tested and verified theory of evolution, and does it 
better. Nobody has.
