========
There is no voice on the horizon ready to stop the war. What do you think
the nameless faceless Green Party bosses and Liberatarian Party bosses are
going to come up with as candidates? WHY IS NO ONE DISCUSSING THIS! If
there is no peace alternative, then I can already assure you who it will
turn out -- war, occupation, the police state, and world cor****atization
and debt slavery will win, i.e., either Bush or Kerry, but in an election
with the lowest turnout in history, a fact the media will not emphasize.
And that will be that. All your words for nothing.
So, tell me -- can we put Kuchinich over at this late hour -- and if
not,
who else is against these things and what other party can we rally too?
These are life and death questions.

bogus war on terror, 2) Iraq occupation, 3) cor****ations ruling the world
John Kerry's new top foreign policy advisor, James P. Rubin, and all other
top advisors differentiate thesmelves from
Cheney-Wolfowitz-Rumsfeld-Perle
not in forceful use soldiers and defense hardware around the world to
fight
nebulous terrorism, but merely in "doing more" to retain the help of a
coalition of aggressors.
The difference between a Bush Administration and a Kerry Administration
will
be not a change in the Neo-cons level of Zionist hawkishness, rather, says
Rubin, "I think the mantra of the Democratic thinkers [assembled by Kerry]
is 'together if possible, alone if absolutely necessary.' " In other
words,
since Bonesman Kerry, a relative unknown to coalition nations, is not now
hated by the participating nations as much as is President Bush, President
Kerry will have, at least initially, a better chance of keeping coalition
nations from jumping ****p.
The difference between Bush and Kerry is the difference between Wolfowitz
and Rubin. (Do you think Wolfowitz really disagrees with the Kerry
doctrine
of 'together if possible, alone if absolutely necessary?")

Until now, the US-led coalition plan for securing transitional Iraq had
hinged on training new Iraqi forces. The coalition says it has 70,000
Iraqi
police officers and 20,00 ... But re****ts are coming in from around the
country that Iraqi security forces are refusing to confront the new
challenges head on. Analysts now say the best military solution to the
rising tide of Sunni and ****ite attacks - and unexpected alliances - is a
major increase in US forces.

Was the bottle thrown by a Bush sup****ter or a Kerry sup****ter? It could
have been either, right?
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on national
political and religious
leaders to repudiate Islamophobic rhetoric following another in a series
of
attacks on American Muslim institutions, businesses and individuals.
The
latest incident involved an assault on the wife of the Imam, or religious
leader, of the Islamic Society of Annapolis in Annapolis, Md. The woman,
who was wearing an Islamic head scarf, was hit by a bottle this morning
as
she left the mosque. The assailant allegedly shouted something
unintelligible at the victim before fleeing into a nearby office.

Until now, the only respectable reason for continuing the occupation of
Iraq has been the perceived risk that, if the American military withdrew,
a
bloody civil war between Sunnis and ****ites might ensue. If, in fact,
Iraqis are united (against the United States), then there is no reason to
continue to sacrifice American lives and money -- and to inflict more
death
and destruction on Iraqis -- other than saving face for George W. Bush
and
his arrogant entourage of reality-resistant ideologues, who are clearly
incapable of ever admitting to have made a mistake.

BRITISH LINK MOSSAD TO 911
There was ruin and terror in Manhattan, but, over the Hudson River in New
Jersey, a handful of men were dancing. As the World Trade Centre burned
and
crumpled, the five men celebrated and filmed the worst atrocity ever
committed on American soil as it played out before their eyes. Who do you
think they were? Palestinians? Saudis? Iraqis, even? Al-Qaeda, surely?
Wrong
on all counts. They were Israelis? and at least two of them were Israeli
intelligence agents, working for Mossad, the equivalent of MI6 or the CIA.
Their discovery and arrest that morning is a matter of indisputable fact.
To
those who have investigated just what the Israelis were up to that day,
the
case raises one dreadful possibility: that Israeli intelligence had been
shadowing the al-Qaeda hijackers as they moved from the Middle East
through
Europe and into America where they trained as pilots and prepared to
suicide-bomb the symbolic heart of the United States. And the motive? To
bind America in blood and mutual suffering to the Israeli cause.
After the attacks on New York and Wa****ngton, the former Israeli Prime
Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was asked what the terrorist strikes would
mean for USA-Israeli relations. He said: "It's very good." Then he
corrected
himself, adding: "Well, it's not good, but it will generate immediate
sympathy [for Israel from Americans]." If Israel's closest ally felt the
collective pain of mass civilian deaths at the hands of terrorists, then
Israel would have an unbreakable bond with the world's only hyperpower and
an effective free hand in dealing with the Palestinian terrorists who had
been murdering its innocent civilians as the second Intifada dragged on
throughout 2001.
It's not surprising that the New Jersey housewife who first spotted the
five
Israelis and their white van wants to preserve her anonymity. She's
insisted
that she only be identified as Maria. A neighbour in her
apartment building had called her just after the first strike on the Twin
Towers. Maria grabbed a pair of binoculars and, like millions across the
world, she watched the horror of the day unfold. As she gazed at the
burning
towers, she noticed a group of men kneeling on the roof of a white van in
her parking lot. Here's her recollection: "They seemed to be taking a
movie.
They were like happy, you know . they didn't look shocked to me. I thought
it was strange."
Maria jotted down the van's registration and called the police. The FBI
was
alerted and soon there was a state-wide all points bulletin put out for
the
apprehension of the van and its occupants. The cops traced the number,
establi****ng that it belonged to a company called Urban Moving. Police
Chief
John Schmidig said: "We got an alert to be on the lookout for a white
Chevrolet van with New Jersey registration and writing on the side. Three
individuals were seen celebrating in Liberty State Park after the impact.
They said three people were jumping up and down."
By 4pm on the afternoon of September 11, the van was spotted near New
Jersey
's Giants stadium. A squad car pulled it over and inside were five men in
their 20s. They were hustled out of the car with guns levelled at their
heads and handcuffed. In the car was $4700 in cash, a couple of foreign
pass****ts and a pair of box cutters ? the concealed Stanley Knife-type
blades used by the 19 hijackers who'd flown jetliners into the World Trade
Centre and Pentagon just hours before. There were also fresh pictures of
the
men standing with the smouldering wreckage of the Twin Towers in the
background. One image showed a hand flicking a lighter in front of the
devastated buildings, like a fan at a pop concert.
The driver of the van then told the arresting officers: "We are Israeli.
We
are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are
the problem." His name was Sivan Kurzberg. The other four passengers were
Kurzberg's brother Paul, Yaron Shmuel, Oded Ellner and Omer Marmari. The
men
were dragged off to prison and transferred out of the custody of the FBI's
Criminal Division and into the hands of their Foreign Counterintelligence
Section ? the bureau's anti-espionage squad.
A warrant was issued for a search of the Urban Moving premises in
Weehawken
in New Jersey. Boxes of papers and computers were removed. The FBI
questioned the firm's Israeli owner, Dominik Otto Suter, but when agents
returned to re-interview him a few days later, he was gone. An employee of
Urban Moving said his co-workers had laughed about the Manhattan attacks
the
day they happened. "I was in tears," the man said. "These guys were
joking
and that bothered me. These guys were like, 'Now America knows what we go
through.'"
Vince Cannistraro, former chief of operations for counter-terrorism with
the
CIA, says the red flag went up among investigators when it was discovered
that some of the Israelis' names were found in a search of
the national intelligence database. Cannistraro says many in the USA
intelligence community believed that some of the Israelis were working for
Mossad and there was speculation over whether Urban Moving had been "set
up
or exploited for the purpose of launching an intelligence operation
against
radical Islamists". This makes it clear that there was no suggestion
whatsoever from within American intelligence that the Israelis were
colluding with the 9/11 hijackers ? simply that the possibility remains
that
they knew the attacks were going to happen, but effectively did nothing to
help stop them.
After the owner vanished, the offices of Urban Moving looked as if they'd
been closed down in a big hurry. Mobile phones were littered about, the
office phones were still connected and the property of at
least a dozen clients were stacked up in the warehouse. The owner had
cleared out his family home in New Jersey and returned to Israel.
Two weeks after their arrest, the Israelis were still in detention, held
on
immigration charges. Then a judge ruled that they should be de****ted. But
the CIA scuppered the deal and the five remained in custody for another
two
months. Some went into solitary confinement, all underwent two polygraph
tests and at least one underwent up to seven lie detector sessions before
they were eventually de****ted at the end of November 2001. Paul Kurzberg
refused to take a lie detector test for 10 weeks, but then failed it. His
lawyer said he was reluctant to take the test as he had once worked for
Israeli intelligence in another country.
Nevertheless, their lawyer, Ram Horvitz, dismissed the allegations as
"stupid and ridiculous". Yet USA government sources still maintained that
the Israelis were collecting information on the fundraising activities of
groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Mark Regev, of the Israeli embassy in
Wa****ngton, would have none of that and he said the allegations were
"simply
false". The men themselves claimed they'd read about the World Trade
Centre
attacks on the internet, couldn't see it from their office and went to the
parking lot for a better view. Their lawyers and the embassy say their
ghoulish and sinister celebrations as the Twin Towers blazed and thousands
died were due to youthful foolishness.
Would friends of the USA jump for joy at the murder of thousands of its
citizens? [And more, would they have jumped for joy if they thought a lot
of Jews were in the building -- which, not-so-amazingly, there weren't.
(How did they know?) --DE]
The respected New York Jewish newspaper, The Forward, re****ted in March
2002, however, that it had received a briefing on the case of the five
Israelis from a USA official who was regularly updated by law enforcement
agencies. This is what he told The Forward: "The *****sment was that Urban
Moving Systems was a front for the Mossad and operatives employed by it."
He
added that "the conclusion of the FBI was that they were spying on local
Arabs", but the men were released because they "did not know anything
about
9/11".
Back in Israel, several of the men discussed what happened on an Israeli
talk show. One of them made this remarkable comment: "The fact of the
matter
is we are coming from a country that experiences terror daily. Our
purpose
was to do***ent the event." But how can you do***ent an event unless you
know it is going to happen?
We are now deep in conspiracy theory territory. But there is more than a
little cir***stantial evidence to show that Mossad ? whose motto is "By
way
of deception, thou shalt do war" ? was spying on Arab extremists in
the USA and may have known that September 11 was in the offing, yet
decided
to withhold vital information from their American counterparts which could
have prevented the terror attacks.
Following September 11, 2001, more than 60 Israelis were taken into
custody
under the Patriot Act and immigration laws. One highly placed investigator
told Carl Cameron of Fox News that there were "tie-ins"
between the Israelis and September 11; the hint was clearly that they'd
gathered intelligence on the planned attacks but kept it to themselves.
The
Fox News source refused to give details, saying: "Evidence linking these
Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has
been gathered. It's classified information." Fox News is not noted for its
condemnation of Israel; it's a ruggedly patriotic news channel owned by
Rupert Murdoch and was President Bush's main cheerleader in the war on
terror and the invasion of Iraq.
Another group of around 140 Israelis were detained prior to September 11,
2001, in the USA as part of a widespread investigation into a suspected
espionage ring run by Israel inside the USA. Government do***ents refer to
the spy ring as an "organised intelligence-gathering operation" designed
to
"penetrate government facilities". Most of those arrested had served in
the
Israeli armed forces ? but military service is compulsory in Israel.
Nevertheless, a number had an intelligence background.
The first glimmerings of an Israeli spying exercise in the USA came to
light
in spring 2001, when the FBI sent a warning to other federal agencies
alerting them to be wary of visitors calling themselves "Israeli art
students" and attempting to bypass security at federal buildings in order
to
sell paintings. A Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) re****t suggested
the
Israeli calls "may well be an organised intelligence-gathering activity".
Law enforcement do***ents say that the Israelis "targeted and penetrated
military bases" as well as the DEA, FBI and dozens of government
facilities,
including secret offices and the unlisted private homes of law enforcement
and intelligence personnel.
A number of Israelis questioned by the authorities said they were students
from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, but Pnina Calpen, a spokeswoman
for
the Israeli school, did not recognise the names of any Israelis mentioned
as
studying there in the past 10 years. A federal re****t into the so-called
art
students said many had served in intelligence and electronic signal
intercept units during their military service.
According to a 61-page re****t, drafted after an investigation by the DEA
and
the USA immigration service, the Israelis were organised into cells of
four
to six people. The significance of what the Israelis were doing didn't
emerge until after September 11, 2001, when a re****t by a French
intelligence agency noted "according to the FBI, Arab terrorists and
suspected terror cells lived in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as in Miami and
Hollywood, Florida, from December 2000 to April 2001 in direct proximity
to
the Israeli spy cells".
The re****t contended that Mossad agents were spying on Mohammed Atta and
Marwan al-Shehi, two of leaders of the 9/11 hijack teams. The pair had
settled in Hollywood, Florida, along with three other hijackers, after
leaving Hamburg ? where another Mossad team was operating close by.
Hollywood in Florida is a town of just 25,000 souls. The French
intelligence
re****t says the leader of the Mossad cell in Florida rented apartments
"right near the apartment of Atta and al-Shehi". More than a third of the
Israeli "art students" claimed residence in Florida. Two other Israelis
connected to the art ring showed up in Fort Lauderdale. At one time,
eight
of the hijackers lived just north of the town.
Put together, the facts do appear to indicate that Israel knew that 9/11,
or
at least a large-scale terror attack, was about to take place on American
soil, but did nothing to warn the USA. But that's not quite true. In
August
2001, the Israelis handed over a list of terrorist suspects ? on it were
the
names of four of the September 11 hijackers. Significantly, however, the
warning said the terrorists were planning an attack "outside the United
States".
The Israeli embassy in Wa****ngton has dismissed claims about the spying
ring
as "simply untrue". The same denials have been issued repeatedly by the
five
Israelis seen high-fiving each other as the World Trade Centre burned in
front of them. Their lawyer, Ram Horwitz, insisted his clients were not
intelligence officers. Irit Stoffer, the Israeli foreign minister, said
the
allegations were "completely untrue". She said the men were arrested
because
of "visa violations", adding: "The FBI investigated those cases because of
9/11."
Jim Margolin, an FBI spokesman in New York, implied that the public would
never know the truth, saying: "If we found evidence of unauthorised
intelligence operations that would be classified material." Yet, Israel
has
long been known, according to USA administration sources, for "conducting
the most aggressive espionage operations against the USA of any USA ally".
Seventeen years ago, Jonathan Pollard, a civilian working for the American
Navy, was jailed for life for passing secrets to Israel. At first, Israel
claimed Pollard was part of a rogue operation, but the government later
took
responsibility for his work.
It has always been a long-accepted agreement among allies ? such as
Britain
and America or America and Israel ? that neither country will jail a
"friendly spy" nor shame the allied country for espionage. Chip Berlet, a
senior analyst at Boston's Political Research Associates and an expert in
intelligence, says: "It's a backdoor agreement between allies that says
that
if one of your spies gets caught and didn't do too much harm, he goes
home.
It goes on all the time. The official reason is always visa violation."
What we are left with, then, is fact sullied by innuendo. Certainly, it
seems, Israel was spying within the borders of the United States and it is
equally certain that the targets were Islamic extremists probably linked
to
September 11. But did Israel know in advance that the Twin Towers would be
hit and the world plunged into a war without end; a war which would give
Israel the power to strike its enemies almost without limit? That's a
conspiracy theory too far, perhaps. But the unpleasant feeling that, in
this
age of spin and secrets, we do not know the full and unadulterated truth
won
't go away. Maybe we can guess, but it's for the history books to discover
and decide.

Cor****ations privatize US military aggression, prisons, forced occupation.
Americans assumed "US contractors" were in Iraq to help restore
infrastructure demolished by coalition troops
during the war. But in the bloody, churning streets of Iraq,
"contractors"
aren't building or fixing things. The Wa****ngton Post now identifies them
as "security contractors," which still sounds ambiguous, implying their
job
is to plug in the burglar alarms. But their job is to plug the enemy.
They
are Triggermen. And their
derivative M-16s fire a NATO-compatible ammunition round so that they can
use ammunition wherever US and coalition forces are. ... The legal
status
of Triggermen remains to be seen. Apparently they are unaccountable to
anyone except by a civil employment contract with the coalition. At the
recent siege on the coalition's Najaf headquarters there were no US
military personnel even present, and so no clear accounting for actions
of
the Triggermen even though they fired thousands of ammunition rounds and
hundreds of 40 mm grenades.
------------
Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz said Israelis were "crossing our
fingers for the Americans" in Iraq, after they met fierce resistance from
both Sunni and ****ite Muslim rebels, in remarks published Friday. "If the
Americans manage to control the situation in Iraq, which Israel is
convinced
they will, it will have a positive impact on the whole Middle East, (on)
the
oil market and the international community's authority." Mofaz said he
was
persuaded that "America is strong and will put a halt to any attempt to
turn
Iraq into a terrorist state." "We are crossing our fingers for the
Americans
in Iraq -- their success is vital for world peace," the hawkish former
chief
of staff told the top-selling Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot.

When the 9/11 commission resumes its hearings Tuesday, it will be
fascinating to see whether it addresses the evacuation from the US of
about
140 Saudis almost immediately after 9/11. Think about it: U.S.
intelligence
knew that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi. Analysts also knew that Saudi
money was a major force behind Al Qaeda. And, of course, Osama bin Laden,
the perpetrator of the worst crime on American soil, was Saudi. It is
standard practice in murder investigations to interview friends and
relatives of the primary suspect. One of the highest U.S. security
priorities should have been the interrogation of Bin Laden's relatives and
other Saudis who, inadvertently or not, may have funded him.

THOUSANDS of Sunni and ****ite Muslims forced their way through US military

Sunni bastion of Fallujah where US marines are trying to crush insurgents.
Troops in armoured vehicles tried to stop the convoy of cars and

from reaching the town located 50 kilometers west of Baghdad. But US
forces
were overwhelmed as residents of villages west of the capital came to the
convoy's assistance, hurling insults and stones at the beleaguered troops.

Robert Fisk: A War Founded On Lies And Illusions Has One Simple Truth
FISK: A war founded on illusions, lies and right-wing ideology was bound
to
founder in blood and fire. Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. He was
in
contact with al-Qa'ida, he was involved with the crimes against humanity
of
11 September. The people of Iraq would greet us with flowers and music.
There would be a democracy.
Even the pulling-down of Saddam's statue was a fraud. An American military
vehicle tugged the wretched thing down while a crowd of only a few hundred
Iraqis watched. Where were the tens of thousands who should have pulled it
down themselves, who should have been celebrating their "liberation"?
....
In fact, freedom from Saddam's dictator****p in those early days and weeks
meant freedom to loot, freedom to burn, freedom to kidnap, freedom to
murder. The initial American and British blunder - to allow the mobs to
take
over Baghdad and other cities - was followed by the arrival of the far
more
sinister squads of arsonists who systematically destroyed every archive,
every government ministry (save for Oil and Interior which were, of
course,
secured by US troops), Islamic manuscripts, national archives and
irreplaceable antiquities. The very cultural identity of Iraq was being
annihilated.
Yet still the Iraqis were supposed to rejoice in their "liberation". The
occupying power sneered at re****ts that women were being kidnapped and
violated - in fact, the abductions of men as well as women were at the
rate
of 20 a day and may now be as high as 100 a day - and steadfastly refused
to
calculate the numbers of Iraqi civilians killed each day by gunmen,
thieves
and American troops.
Even this week, as the promises and lies and obfuscations fell apart, the
American military spokesman was still only able to give military
casualties - this when more than 200 Iraqis are re****ted to have been
killed
in the US attack on Fallujah.
Over the months, the isolation of the occupation authorities from the
Iraqi
people they were supposed to care so much about was only paralleled by the
vast distance in false hope and self-deceit between the occupying powers
in
Baghdad and their masters back in Wa****ngton.
Paul Bremer, America's proconsul in Iraq, started off by calling the
resistance "party remnants", which is exactly what the Russians used to
call
their Afghan opponents after they invaded Afghanistan in 1979. Then Mr
Bremer called them "diehards". Then he called them "dead-enders". And, as
the attacks against US forces increased around Fallujah and other Sunni
Muslim cities, we were told this area was the "Sunni triangle", even
though
it is much larger than that implies and has no triangular shape.
So when President Bush made his notorious trip to the Abraham Lincoln to
announce the end of all "major military operations" - beneath a banner
claiming "Mission Accomplished" - and when attacks against US troops
continued to rise, it was time to rewrite the chapter on post-war Iraq.
"Foreign fighters" were now in the battle, according to the US Secretary
of
State Donald Rumsfeld. The US media went along with this nonsense, even
though not a single al-Qa'ida operative has been arrested in Iraq and of
the
8,500 "security detainees" in American hands, only 150 appear to be from
outside Iraq. Just 2 per cent.
Then as winter approached and Saddam was caught and the anti-American
resistance continued, the occupying powers and their favourite journalists
began to warn of civil war, something no Iraqi has ever indulged in and
which no Iraqi has ever been heard discussing. Iraq was now to be
frightened
into submission. What would happen if the Americans and British left?
Civil
war, of course. And we don't want civil war, do we?
The ****a remained quiescent, their leader****p divided between the
scholarly
and pro-Western Grand Ayatollah al-Sistani and the impetuous but
intelligent
Muqtada Sadr. They opened their mass graves and mourned those thousands
who
were tortured and executed by Saddam's butchery and then asked why we used
to sup****t Saddam, why it took us 20 years to discover the need to stage
our
humanitarian invasion.
If the occupation authorities had bothered to study the results of a
conference on Iraq held by the Centre for Arab Unity Studies in Beirut
recently, they might be forced to acknowledge what they cannot admit: that
their opponents are Iraqis and that this is an Iraqi insurgency.
An Iraqi academic, Sulieman Jumeili, who lives in the city of Fallujah,
told
how he discovered that 80 per cent of all rebels killed were Iraqi
Islamist
activists. Only 13 per cent of the dead men were primarily nationalists
and
only 2 per cent had been Baathists.
But we cannot accept these statistics. Because if this is an Iraqi revolt
against us, how come they aren't grateful for their liberation? So, after
the atrocities in Fallujah just over a week ago when four US mercenaries
were killed, mutilated and dragged through the streets, General Ricardo
Sanchez, the US commander in Iraq, sanctioned what is preposterously
called
"Operation Vigilant Resolve". And now that Sadr's thousands of ****a
militiamen had joined in the battle against the Americans, General Sanchez
had to change the narrative yet again.
No longer were his enemies Saddam "remnants" or even al-Qa'ida; they were
now "a small (sic) group of criminals and thugs". The Iraqi people would
not
be allowed to fall under their sway, General Sanchez said. There was "no
place for a renegade militia".
So the marines smashed their way into Fallujah, killing more than 200
Iraqis, including women and children, while using tanks fire and
helicopter
gun****ps against gunmen in the Baghdad slums of Sadr City. It took a day
or
two to understand what new self-delusion had taken over the US military
command. They were not facing a country-wide insurgency. They were
liberating the Iraqis all over again! So, of course, this will mean a few
more "major military operations". Sadr goes on the wanted list for a
murder
after an arrest warrant that no one told us about when it was mysteriously
issued months ago - supposedly by an Iraqi judge - and General Mark
Kimmitt,
General Sanchez's number two, told us confidently that Sadr's militia will
be "destroyed".
And so the bloodbath spreads ever further across Iraq. Kut and Najaf are
now
outside the control of the occupying powers. And with each new collapse,
we
are told of new hope. Yesterday, General Sanchez was still talking about
his
"total confidence" in his troops who were "clear in their purpose", how
they
were making "progress" in Fallujah and how - these are his actual words,
"a
new dawn is approaching".
Which is exactly what US commanders were saying exactly a year ago today -
when US troops drove into the Iraqi capital and when Wa****ngton boasted of
victory against the Beast of Baghdad.
With the Afghan resistance poised for a do-or-die spring offensive against
occupying forces in the country, already torn by instability, Asia Times
Online has learned that Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of the Hezb-i-Islami
Afghanistan (HIA) - the engine of the resistance in the east of the
country - has provisionally agreed to call a ceasefire in resistance
fighting in return for his party being allowed to contest September's
general elections.

While Senator Byrd is calling for an exit strategy, as well as Kucinich,
the majority in Congress and the controlled mass media insist upon
continuing the foreign oil-terror-producing war-occupation policies. The
second and third items delve into 9/11 inquiry. There is something really
wrong, and the official 9/11 probe is avoiding critical questions about
what happened that day. Where was the Air Force on 9/11? Ted Rall wrote:
"The notion of a hijacked passenger jet meandering over the northeastern

chunk of the Pentagon, should appall anyone whose taxes contributed to
the
quarter of a trillion dollars spent on defense that year."

[As] far as the 9-11 Commission is concerned, and at least for the
moment, the White House got what it wanted. President George W Bush and
Vice
President Dick Cheney will have a private conversation with the commission
as a tandem, not under oath, and behind closed doors. This testimony won't
be recorded. The commission will hardly have more than two or three hours
to
ask crucial questions to both, when it could have at least double the time
to ask questions to each of them separately. The arrangement of course
prevents them from contradicting each other - a basic premise of any
criminal investigation. It makes sure that the all-powerful, all-seeing
Cheney is the Praetorian Guard capable of preventing any Bush rhetorical
disaster. Andrew Rice, chair of the 9-11 Commission Committee of the
September 11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows organization, is one among
millions of terribly frustrated Americans. He believes that as far as this
official 9-11 Commission is concerned, the "fix was in" from the

Thinking Unthinkable Thoughts --Theologian Charges White House Complicity
in 9/11 Attack --by Nick Welsh "According to [author of The New Pearl
Harbor, David Ray] Griffin, a case can be made that the Bush
administration
arranged the attack, or allowed it to happen... NICK WELSH: Is there a
smoking gun that shows the Bush administration knew 9/11 was likely to
happen and did nothing about it? DAVID RAY GRIFFIN: I think there are
four.
One is the fact that standard operating procedures for dealing with
possibly
hijacked airplanes were not followed on 9/11. Those procedures call for
fighter jets to be sent out immediately upon any sign that a plane may
have
been hijacked. These jets typically get to the plane within no later than
15
minutes anywhere in the United States. And on that day, there were four
airplanes that went for a half-hour or more after they were hijacked
without
jets intercepting them... And the other smoking guns? The second
strongest
piece of evidence I would say is the crash at the Pentagon. The physical
evidence contradicts so violently the official account, that the Pentagon
was hit by a Boeing 757 - Flight 77, that is. The physical evidence,
photographs, and eyewitness testimony say that the Pentagon was hit by
something that caused a hole no larger than 18 feet in diameter. The story
the Pentagon put out, and was published by the Wa****ngton Post, was that
the
hole in the Pentagon was five stories high and 200 feet wide. If you look
at
the photographs taken by Tom Horan of the Associated Press - that's just
not
the size of the hole. But if the hole was only 18 feet wide, it had to
have
been created by something other than a Boeing. Whatever went into the
Pentagon pierced six reinforced walls. This was the west wing, the part of
the Pentagon being refurbished and reinforced. These walls were extra
strong, and yet whatever it was went through six walls creating a hole
about
seven feet in diameter in the sixth wall. This had to have been something
with a very powerful head on it. A Boeing 757 has a very fragile nose,
and
would not have pierced through all those walls; it would have been crushed
by hitting the Pentagon. And given that it only penetrated these three
rings, the rest of the aircraft would have been sitting outside on the
yard.
And yet the photographs taken just as the fire trucks got there - very
shortly after the crash - show no plane whatsoever. What do they show?
They
show no aircraft whatsoever. And everyone agrees on this. The official
story
is that the whole aircraft went inside the Pentagon. The problem with that
-
the firefighters in there would have seen the airplane. They would have
seen
the engines, they would have seen the aluminum fuselage, but they re****ted
nothing."

international peace. The American people either don't know, don't care, or
are too busy watching television to do anything about it.
As Jim Lobe re****ts, the above mentioned are now "pu****ng for retribution
against Iran for, they say, sponsoring this week's ****ite uprising in Iraq
led by radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. Despite the growing number of
re****ts
that depict the fighting as a spontaneous and indigenous revolt against
the
U.S.-led occupation, the influential neo-cons are calling on Bush to warn
Tehran to cease its alleged backing for al-Sadr and other ****a militias or
face retaliation, ranging from an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities to
covert action designed to overthrow the government."
Note the first option -- attacking Iran's nuclear facilities. It is a line
straight out of the Zionist script. On June 7, 1981, the Israelis attacked
Iraq's Osiraq nuclear facility with American-made F-16s, in direct
violation
of international law. Now the Bush neocons want to do the same thing to
Iran.
"Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon urged US President George Bush to
take
all steps possible to block Iran from developing nuclear arms [last
July],"
al-Jazeerah re****ted. "Sharon also said Israel believed Iran is ****pping
weapons to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah through Syria, and voiced
Israeli concerns about camps for training Palestinian 'terrorists' in
Syria."
Note nearly all of Sharon's enemies are mentioned: Iran, Syria, and
Hezbollah. These enemies are also on the neocon hit list and Bush's evil
axis roster.
Of course, most people in the world, when asked, don't believe Iran,
Syria,
or Hezbollah are primary threats to world peace -- that distinction is
reserved for Israel. For instance, a poll conducted by Eurobarometer late
last year indicated nearly 60% of Europeans believe Israel "presents a
threat to peace, putting it ahead of Iran, North Korea and the US, each of
which polled 53%," the BBC re****ted.
As for nukes -- they are a pipe dream for Iran, but a reality for Israel.
"By the late 1990s the U.S. Intelligence Community estimated that Israel
possessed between 75-130 weapons, based on production estimates," writes
FAS. "The stockpile would certainly include warheads for mobile Jericho-1
and Jericho-2 missiles, as well as bombs for Israeli aircraft, and may
include other tactical nuclear weapons of various types. Some published
estimates even claimed that Israel might have as many as 400 nuclear
weapons
by the late 1990s."
So maybe the US should attack Dimona, Israel's nuclear facility.
Sharon, the rabid Likudites, and the Bush neocons are racists who hate
Arabs
and Iranians. They can't wait to start World War IV -- World War III,
according to the neocons, was the Cold War (these guys love back-to-back
wars and mass murder) -- and turn the Middle East into one huge killing
field in the name of Greater Israel. Remarkably, the American people have
allowed them to get away with lying about Iraq and WMD and killing 10,000
people, excluding the approximately 40,000 Iraqi conscripts they
slaughtered
last year.
"Some neo-conservatives have seized on Sadr's uprising as a new
op****tunity
both to raise tensions against Iran and to divert attention from
Wa****ngton's bungling of relations with the ****a community in Iraq,"
writes
Lobe.
This is criminal behavior. It should not be tolerated. Unfortunately, it
will not only be tolerated, it will be encouraged by the likes of the War
Street Journal and Fox, especially after Bush takes the election in
November, either semi-legitimately or by hook, crook, and Diebold voting
machine.
It's war all the time from here on out.
=============
Why John Kaminski isn't voting for Kerry either.
From John's "Easter Message:"
Imagine that you're not killed instantly, but your arms have been blown
off.
Imagine that your daughter's head has been blown off and her body reduced
to
spasming jelly. You can see her head, eyes wide but sightless, a few feet
away. That's how it is today ... in Fallujah, where flies feast on bodies
littering the streets.
Do you think this is too graphic? It's nothing compared to what is
happening
today ... in Fallujah, where American troops prevent medics from tending
to
the wounded and media from re****ting the carnage.
And the reason? There is no reason. You know the reasons for our war
against
the Iraqi people have been exposed as shallow lies. No weapons of mass
destruction. No connection to the terrorists. The dictator is deposed. Yet
the killing is rampant, as Iraqis fight for their freedom against the
American and Israeli terror-mongers.
In the pitch dark that is the satanic American future, we continue to
kill.
In the name of democracy. In the name of Jesus. Our president talks to
Jesus. He is risen today. Our president says he talks to God every day.
God
told him to bomb Afghanistan, he told us.
Jesus told him to blast innocent women and children in Fallujah today, and
to pile the dead and dying in the football stadium because he won't let
medical personnel get to them. Jesus told him to throw away the lives of
American adolescents in uniform. Happy Easter.
Praise the Lord! He is risen. Hallelujah! In Fallujah!
Imagine if an all-powerful foreign army invaded the United States of
America
and began killing Americans at random, gunning down average families at
arbitrary checkpoints, spreading the sale of drugs and ****ography
throughout the land, targeting college professors for assassination,
stealing our historic artifacts, making totally innocent people disappear
forever without telling their relatives what happened to them, torturing
teenagers in ways civilized societies have banned for decades, and
spreading
an ineradicable radioactive poison across the landscape that guaranteed
death sentences to all inhabitants from fatal cancers many centuries into
the future.
Imagine if the invaders said the reason they came to obliterate our
country
was because we had an unstable leader who had used weapons of mass
destruction against innocent people, and he had to be removed as a menace
to
the whole world. (Well, at least that would be an honest *****sment of the
present situation in the U.S.)
Imagine if this foreign power disregarded everything we held holy and
demanded we accept their religion, and declared all the ideas we grew up
with to be a terrorist threat. Imagine if they promised us genuine
democracy
and then refused to let us hold elections and nominate candidates that
were
not chosen by them. Imagine how you would feel if your entire family was
shot to death just for walking down the street to the grocery store.
What would you do? You'd start shooting back, that's what you'd do. You
would hate the invaders forever, and spend the rest of your life trying to
kill every single one of them. Count on this being a very real part of the
darkness of the American future.
This is the situation George W. Bush has produced for the United States,
and
the situation that John F. Kerry would contentedly continue were he to win
the upcoming election. This, my friends, is an even darker part of the
American future.
Your vote doesn't count anymore, because of the electronic finagling by
fascist cor****ations.
But worse, both candidates, and every elected representative in
Wa****ngton,
are leading us toward the darkness of the American future, simply by not
telling us the truth. And pretending American soldiers are fighting and
dying for freedom when they're really throwing their lives away for fatter
Halliburton contracts.
America wants war. America has always wanted war. And now we have it.
Welcome to the darkness. Imagine your daughter's eyes, gazing sightlessly
into the blazing, now-silent dust of that mosque in Fallujah. Hallelujah.
Anybody with a brain and not paid off has to realize that the U.S.
invasion
of Iraq was not about removing Saddam Hussein. It was about beginning the
American invasion of the world, and takeover of all areas deemed to be
strategically im****tant in terms of American profits.
U.S. troops have been slaughtering Iraqi civilians for a year, all the
while
muttering insincere platitudes about democracy and free elections. The aim
was to send a message to all in the Arab world that this fate will befall
them if they impede U.S. plans to steal everyone's oil in that region.
Put yourself in their place, which all religions urge us to do. Walk a
mile
in the other fellow's shoes.
What would you do? There is no choice but to conclude America, backed by
its
behind-the-scenes ideological manipulator Israel, is the real danger to
all
of humanity. Iraqis know it without a hint of a question; Americans are
beginning to learn. But too few. And probably too late. (end of excerpt)
