I have it.
It's a new movie from the Stand Alone Complex universe. In parts it
mimicks (like many of the Stand Alone Complex stand-alone episodes do)
the original GHOST IN THE SHELL 1.5 Man-Machine Interface comic from
the late 90s, but it mixes it around and rewrites it.
Frankly, I'm becoming less and less impressed with Kamiya (the director
and primary writer behind the SAC series). Not only does he reuse
****row material, but he reuses his mentor O****i's material as well. If
I have to sit through The Major jumping off one more building after she
shoots another bad guy in the head, I will puke. Think of the cost in
cyborg bodies alone, not to mention the emotional trauma of dying again
and again and again. No wonder The Major is near-emotionless.
So is the movie worth it? Sure. Rent it, enjoy it, and be done with it.
I have the Limited Edition First Printing blah blah blah, but I'm a nut
for the stuff. Would I recommend you all go out and buy the new movie?
No.
Kindest regards,
Made in DNA
