So...
In my spare time I dug out another PC carcass with 2 gb of memory and
a 2.5 gHz P4... So I did a drive transplant from the old *very dead*
backroom box... Plugged it in... nada... the system lights came one
but no video....
Curious. Unplugged everything checked the innards... All looks good...
I know the box worked the last time I used it... I decided to take the
KVM out of the loop... Sure as Matzah that was the problem... what
ever fried the old box apparently fried the KVM... and ancient 8 way
KVM... guess I'll have to drag out the other one.
Booted SuSE and configured the IP address and whadda ya know? It
appears the Back Room is Back.
Anyone want to check...
BTW Charleson... you seem to be the last one to post anything there...
and yes... That opening line was trying too hard... or something.
"Bleary sunbeam" does not work... bleary rays maybe... dunno... The
problem is: if this is intended as CP then you need to grab the reader
by the throat in that first line.
