There is a mural by Mona Caron in San Francisco, that depicts a
series of time slices along San Fracisco's market street.
The final panel depicts a possible future:

This is a dream of a utopian green city, but note that we have
apparently been through some hard times to get there.  Note the
name of the "After the Deluge Cafe", and the fact that there are
now canals running up to Market street -- it appears that the
ocean water level has risen quite a bit.

Oh: Chris Carlson's novel "After the Deluge" seems to be set
in the same future scenario:

I have to confess I haven't gotten very far with it, though -- it
has a lot of the problems of most utopian travelogues.
