I watched the religion section and skipped around in the banker/war
bits.
In the vein of flexible reality, one can see this stuff in very
different ways, depending on what else you presume.  They'd assume no
active intelligence shaping the cosmic scale of things and thus that
particular story.

If you presume active intelligence in the formation of nature then,
you see God dropping some very big hints.  In elder religions, you see
prophesy with data loss and something like the bit-rot that befell
medieval Christian institutions.  Love, freedom and direct access to
God are intrinsic to Christianity's open-source kernel but, in
religious institutions, people keep trying to squeeze a crummy GUI
between God and Man.  Sometimes, almost all that's left is the
institution with it's politics and power games.

Interestingly, the banker and money-chip bits are straight out of
current theory on Biblical Prophecy.
