Yes, I conflated "fan boy" and "girlie man" in my damaged mind.
Maybe Lorne Michaels (the creator and executive producer of Saturday
Night Live) should threaten to sue Arnold Schwarzenegger for
infringement. That's a Ray Bradbury joke. I think he loudly
demanded that Michael Moore change the title of Fahrenheit 911
because he wanted the world to know that he didn't endorse the movie.
Surely he's aware that he couldn't possibly win a lawsuit.
BTW, I saw Mr. Bradbury meet Kristine Kathryn Rusch at WorldCon in
1996. He was most gracious. I also saw him deliver the commencement
speech at Pitzer College in 1976. Which was delicious because he
attended Los Angeles City College, where the tuition is very low and
the entrance requirements are pretty much nonexistent. I was hoping
that he would stick it to the Pitzoids. He delivered a gentle
address about going to the library. His philosophy on this subject
was surprisingly similar to that of another Los Angeleno--Frank
Zappa. To paraphrase, you can learn just about anything in the
library all by yourself. Zappa stated this thesis rather more
forcefully.
But I digress.
