I've always enjoyed myself and a Worldcon is the top of the heap.  If
your local it is definitely worth dropping in.

The cheapest one day member****p would give you a chance to see a panel
or two and peruse the art show and dealers room.  I always leave with
a ton of books a couple of art prints and a few toys.

This year has Terry Pratchett as one of the GoH's.  Check out their
web site to see if any of the participants interest you.

get your member****p for $180 on the web site it goes up to $200 after
