Atlanta's Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital to Host Benefit Premiere
of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith
Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith will premiere in Atlanta on
May 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the AMC Phipps Plaza theatre. The gala event,
featuring celebrities and a post-party at Twist, will benefit Hughes
Spalding Children's Hospital, one of 10 children's organizations in the
country selected by Lucasfilm Ltd. to host a benefit premiere.
Already a tradition with the previous Star Wars movies, Lucasfilm uses
the premieres to raise critical funds and awareness for issues
affecting children and families by working with local charities.
"These charitable organizations are the leaders in direct services and
advocacy for children and families," said George Lucas. "I'm delighted
that the screenings can help these amazing organizations, which do so
much im****tant work."
Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital is one of three pediatric hospitals
in the Atlanta area and serves primarily low income and inner city
children. Part of Grady Health System, Hughes Spalding offers a variety
of health-care services and has more than 50,000 emergency room visits
each year.
Guests attending this World Class premiere will be greeted at Phipps
Plaza with a Red Carpet. The Star Wars actors / actresses who will be
attending are Kenny Baker (R2D2 in Episodes I-VI), Amy Allen (Blue Jedi
in Episode III), and Michonne Bourriague (Bounty Hunter Jedi in Episode
I and main character in comic series.). Prior to the premiere, VIPs
will be attending a reception catered by Twist Restaurant, also in
Phipps Plaza.
As the excitement builds for the start of the May 12 premiere, guests
will be lead down the Star Wars theme corridor and receive their
"goodie bags" filled with collectible Star Wars Memorabilia. The film
will be released in theatres the following Thursday, on May 19, 2005.
Following the premiere, the Star Wars fun will continue with a post
party held at Twist Restaurant for all premiere attendees. This fun
exquisite restaurant with a Mediterranean flair will serve delicious
appetizers including satays, tapas and su****. Special Absolute Star
Wars martinis will be given to the over 21 attendees. The party will
feature interactive Star Wars games and other products from the Star
Wars universe.
The Atlanta premiere and events promise to bring those attending an
evening filled with the magic and intrigue of the Star Wars legacy!
Tickets are $500 for general admission and $2,500 for VIPs. There is
also a reduced price available for children. In addition, a ****tion of
the theater seating will be made available to disadvantaged children.
