Saw all kinds of stuff at DragonCon. As usual, 4 days of that is a bit
much,
but there were things I wanted to see each day. I'll eventually have my
friend's pictures he took with his digital camera of some of the more
outre
costumes.
Most impressive thing during the big Sunday night costume contest was a
group that did gigantic (that is, human sized) versions of the Dr. Teeth
band from the old Muppet show (Animal, etc).
Also, another group did this giant choreographed number from CHICAGO (the
song about women killing men) but they were all dressed as undead,
vampires,
zombies, whatever.
Guestwise, 3 of the cast of FIREFLY were there, pimping the upcoming
movie.
David Carradine was there. Peter Davidson (one of the Doctor Who's, and
also
from that James Harriot Veterinarian series). Julie Benz from BUFFY/ANGEL.
Nicole DeBoer from DEEP SPACE NINE/DEAD ZONE. Garrett Wang, VOYAGER. Dr.
Demento. One of the "Lone Gunmen" from X-FILES. Harlan Ellison. Ernie
Hudson. Various Babylon5 types (they did a nice tribute to Richard Biggs,
who passed away in May). Many others, but those were the ones who caught
my
attention.
NASA did some good presentations on some current probe missions.
The amateur musical production "THE RETURN OF THE KING AND I" was very
funny.
Probably lot of other stuff I'm forgetting, but then, we stayed up til 6am
partying Sunday night and by 10am were back in the fray, so I'm something
of
a zombie myself at the moment.
Weirdest thing for sale in the dealer room: Plush toys of various
microscopic critters, including dust mites, Ebola, HIV virus, etc. They
can
be seen at www.giantmicrobes.com
