Dragon*Con is one of the largest annual Science Fiction and Fantasy
theme conventions in the world with an attendance of over 20,000
people. We are planning many exciting events for the 2005 Dragon*Con
Art Show including the 5th annual Iron Artist contest, a large canvas
on which all the artists can work (which will be sold at auction), an
art salon, making art with live models, live music, demos, how-to's,
and other wonderful events.
This years Dragon*Con Art show programming will include representatives
from DeviantArt as well as Adobe, DAZ-3D, Stardock Systems and
Funcom.com. We will have artist guests such as Darrel Sweet and Gris
Grimley. Here is a sampling of the over 40 program items we will have
this year
- DeviantArt will be hosting two program items 1) NEW HORIZONS! Sci-fi
and Fantasy in the Digital Age! and 2) From Page to Page - Evolving
Hobby Fanart Into a Career
- Finding Your Niche as an Artist by Paul Boyer (Stardock Systems)
- Book Cover Illustration - A How-To Guide (various artists from
industry)
- GRIM VISIONS by guest artist Gris Grimley
- Reality Based Fantasy - Adobe Photoshop (presented by Adobe)
- From Prose to Print: how to translate the written word to a visual
story (various artists from industry)
- Digital Iron Artist (based on the TV show Iron Chef and hosted by
Adobe)
- Books and Taxes for Artists
