I dunno. Worldcon certainly has some fine costumes, although Dragoncon
has a lot more of them. I would tend to recommend going to Balticon or
Costumecon instead. I am really surprised at the increasingly impressive
quality of the Balticon masquerade.

This is a bad thing, but we are making the best of it.

Dragoncon is an order of magnitude larger than Arisia.... it is more
than five times the size of Worldcon. Dragoncon _is_ very large, perhaps
the largest, and it attracts a large number of people who don't go to any
other cons. This makes it culturally very different than the usual round
of regional conventions. Whether this is good or bad depends on your
viewpoint.

Yes, but while the current "crisis" is badly affecting travel, we can
almost
certainly expect more and similar events in the future. So just relax and
don't worry about it... airline travel will continue to become more
hellish
(if that can even be imagined) and folks will be reluctant to travel, but
don't let that affect you.
Arisia, Balticon, Philcon, etc. are primarily regional conventions and
attract a lot more local people. Folks fly in from other cities and
countries, sure, but not to the degree that they do for something like
Worldcon. I'm not really sure what the mix is for Dragoncon.
