My two co-techs and I have been approved for new computers.[1]
Mid-range Macbooks (not the black ones), 2 GB of RAM, 160 GB HD,
Bookendz dock, 19" widescreen monitor, case, Parallels. I'm also
getting a USB Model M keyboard from Unicomp. {swoon}
The idea's to have n computers in one using Parallels, since we
sup****t PCs and a small number of Macs, and it'll clear up some desk
space. I'll have 2000, XP, and Vista in VMs. I'd like to try
Debian/Xen as my host and have Ubuntu and OS X VMs as well, but
Parallels is my fallback.
Hopefully the kit'll be here in a week or two.
[1] At last. Our work-supplied PCs were so old that we'd been using
machines scrounged together out of a mix of personal and work
components. Hint: RDRAM.
