As I picked up the munchkin from day care on Friday, it was beginning to
rain. Since it hasn't rained here since probably April, this was a new
thing for her - she'll be two on Friday, and doesn't really remember
April in any concrete fa****on.
So I say, "it's raining outside. Would you like to go see it rain?"
She says, "oooh. Wow. Rain! See rain?"
So we go outside. She's not amused by the rain, it seems.
"Scary. Scary... sprinkler. Scary sprinkler." Hands over eyes.
We get in the car, we head off home, scary sprinkler, hands over
eyes. Halfway home, I look in the back seat, and I see that she's
peeking out between the fingers of her right hand, watching the
rain, which is starting to subside. By the time we get home, the
rain has stopped.
We get out of the car, she looks around, and says "more scary
sprinkler? Please?"
