I put this here so it could remain for people in the future looking
for the same info. So, since your post is going to expire, I am
quoting the whole thing! I hope that's okay...
I worry that this year's controversy will make some people afraid to
talk about potential bids publically, and I know that it isn't really
a problem if it's done right... but I'm at a loss for how to do it
right, specifically. Of greater concern, I also think some of the
assholes are going to be looking very carefully for "violations" to
attempt to discredit other bids in the future, so it might be a good
idea to codify the process a little more, beyond the "email Siobhan
about it," suggestion.
I hope Siobhan, Axel, et al, will chime in here so we have some
starting guidelines.
