RFA 6.18: Celebrating 10 Years of Dancing Ferret!

by "Radio Free Abattoir" <radiofreeabattoir@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 16, 2005 at 08:20 PM

RFA HeadQuarters / Miami Beach, FL
16 November 2005

Greetings from South Beach. I apologize for the delays for updates on RFA,

but the car wreck, hurricane Katrina, friends visiting and a death in my
family (my grandmother; thank you in advance; it was expected) all threw
me
off-track.

So, let me tell you about all the groovy new stuff we have for you today!
Inside this RFA newsletter:

* RFA 6.18: Celebrating 10 years of Dancing Ferret Discs and their new
subsidiary label, Noir Records. This is one of our best shows ever ...
from
America's premier Dark Alternative label.
New video, MP3s & contests from Avoidance of Doubt, Angelspit & RFA!

* Gig Alerts! Salvation III in Newark, New Jersey & Bif ****d in Hilton
Head, South Carolina. (See me there!)

* New MP3 Downloads from The Cruxshadows, kHz, The Last Dance, Lunascape,
The Dreamside, Paralysed Age and more!

* RFA charity sale update.

RFA 6.18: RFA began in 1999 following my departure from the London goth
club
scene. I can't remember when exactly, but it was around 1996 that Dancing
Ferret Discs started supplying me with promotional releases. Scary Lady
Sarah (from Chicago) brought me The Cruxshadows' "Telemetry of a Fallen
Angel" and that put me in touch with DFD. Dancing Ferret has grown to
become
North America's premier dark alternative label and we are very pleased to
offer you a 32-track show highlighting their history. Listen now or view
the
playlist at http://www.radiofreeabattoir.com/
.

New video, MP3s & contests! Check out Avoidance of Doubt's latest video,
"Jesus Wept," download 2 free MP3s from Angelspit and win a copy of "The
Best of Radio Free Abattoir 2004" and a free 3-month subscription to the
RFA
members' area. Go to the RFA site (http://www.radiofreeabattoir.com/)
to
find it all!

Gig Alerts!

* Salvation III (Newark, NJ): Where to begin?!?!? Performances by Red 7
Fury
and Circus Delecti, a latex bodypaint show from Courtney James, music from

DJ Corrupted Bios and you can stomp on Kevin Carpet. Damn. Go:
http://www.ritualfilth.org/

* Bif ****d (Hilton Head, SC + more): Biffy is a personal favorite of
mine.
I'm not quite sure why she's playing on a very small golf/tennis resort
island but it so happens that my sister lives there so I'm going to
combine
a gig with a family visit. Come join me! Check out more US dates @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 the Bif

****d web site. If you aren't familiar with Biffy, you don't know what
you're missing. She'll do a nice pop song and then kick your ass with a
full-on rock assault. And then, if you're lucky, she'll perform "Lucky,"
which is simply ... beautiful. Go: http://www.bif****d.com/

New Downloads in the RFA Shop:

* Dancing Ferret Discs & Noir Records: You are in for a treat! The
Cruxshadows, The Last Dance, The Dreamside, Lunascape, Faun, Paralysed
Age,
ThouShaltNot and more. We only have 1/2 of it up right now, so check back
throughout the week. Note: Some album downloads include bonus videos or
MP3s!!! Go:
http://www.shop.radiofreeabattoir.com/osc/index.php?manufacturers_id=12

* kHz: Oh yeah! New York City's premier underground underground band are
now
available on RFA!!! At the core of the kHz machine is the group's singer,
Raiana, and Pull, the multi-talented guitarist, keyboardist and
programmer.
Raiana has a persona much different from that of the ever present "teen
female so-called rocker.' She's the real thing: a burst of explosive
energy
that bleeds pure pain & honesty - not to mention possessing the physical
beauty not often seen in this musical genre, and with a voice so angelic
that you feel guilty about how she makes you feel. Go:

Charity Sales Update: From direct contributions, CD auctions and our own
contributions, we raised nearly $150 for the American Red Cross' hurricane

relief fund. That may not sound like much, but think of it this way... If
you have a family, no home and no income, that money will feed you. Thank
you so very much to all of you who helped out! And guess what! We're not
done with our charity work. Look out for some autographed Voltaire CDs
soon!
Oooooooo.

You rock. Stay groovy.
