Lots (and I mean *lots*) over on the muddlepuddle 'site.
(www.muddlepuddle.co.uk). Particularly aimed at the 0-8 age range (with
a strong Home Ed section, but most people don't do that just some of us
:-)
Ref: knitting. Finger knitting is a good intro, or french (using one of
those dollies - nice one made to look like a soldier in John Lewis atm,
or buy a plain one and, um, decorate it in a more suitable fa****on :-)
Could take it a bit further with starting from fleece, spinning it and
make from that? Can make a good spindle from a chopstick and a couple
of AOL (or similar) CD's (weight it with wax or blu tack to get the
balance right).
Craft-wise generally - clay is good stuff (get the fimo as you have to
bake that to fix it so it doesn't weld itself to the carpet), so is
papermache (especially the popping the balloon stuff). Could do hand
and foot moulds?
Other interesting stuff at marthastewart.com as well (we get the
marthastewart kids magazine for 'inspiration' as we HE and I enjoy
subverting the projects to a more 'wholesome' viewpoint....
