um... actually no, but...
goth is only a *part* of me. i'm also a farmer, an artist, a
rennie.
my musical preferences are more toward Black Tape and Faith &
the Muse when i'm not listening to folk or classical (and
daddy likes country... but of course, Johnny Cash *is* goth
<g>). Boo loves the Ramones & Black47, and Thomas' Railroad
Songs...as long as your kids get to choose some of thier own
music, listening to your won't warp them (much. Boo sings some
of the Murder Ballads & a few bawdy ren folk songs).
if you watch scary movies, it's probably better to do so when
the kids are sleeping though. littlies have a lot of trouble
with movies before they learn about the difference between
fantasy & reality. even some things aimed at kids are too
scarey for some kids, so there's a definate 'know your kid'
need there. for example, Boo, age 3, loves Nightmare Before
Christmas, but there are episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine
that terrify him.
i don't worry about fa****on at all. i'm the antithisis of
fa****on <g>. i wear jeans & t****rts (most of which are Linux
related, with a few band & Nightmare Before Christmas ****rts).
i wear black almost exclusively, but i don't make Boo wear
black. he has black jeans, t ****rts, turtlenecks & a Ramones
Rock n Roll Preschool ****rt, but he has a lot of green &
orange stuff too. i refuse to buy logo or s****ts related
clothes (which limits choices drasticly in the US), but
anything else is fine & he picks out most of his own clothes
already (which explains the green & orange).
the thing with kids is that they are going to grow into thier
own personalities. we can either help them grow & develop
thier own interests, or we can treat them like possessions and
they'll grow up resenting everything you believe...
