Well, it all looks like fun ;)
A lot of it for me is kind of a search for identity. After many years
of being what I thought I should be, rather than what I want to be, I
want to find my niche before I end up well and truly too old!

Oddly enough my son goes to a church school too. I actually am a
Christian - a fairly faltering and uncertain one, though. I'm really
not sure of what my fellow churchgoers will make of my emergence from
the goth closet - I'll let you know!

I wear a uniform at work, so not much scope there. I realised recently
that there is nowhere near enough black in my wardrobe, so I'm
building up a stock! I think my wife will be fine if I don't go to
extremes, and my mum is quite laid back. Only my father-in-law will be
particularly freaked - he's strictly a ****rt and tie man - but he
lives 400 miles away anyway.

I'm greatly encouraged by this. I was worried that I might have missed
the boat and that only people much younger than me were goths, but I'm
happy to have met (online at least) plenty of older ones in their 30s,
a number of whom are new to the whole thing. It's good to see that
there are people out there who love being part of a particular
culture. It's deeper than just the teenagers who try to spook their
parents. This is A Good Thing!

Yeah...shame this group is fairly inactive. My ISP doesn't carry it,
and I have to access it via Google. Ah well. I also hang around at
alt.gothic and uk.people.gothic. Look out for "Splee" - that's me.

You may well do ;).
Thanks a lot for replying.
