Oi, you don't like it, bite me crank!
This is where I do reviews.
Disney has got a fine product in their expansion of the original "Zenon:
Teen in Space" series. Please "gooja" my review of the original if you
can find it.
Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century was not a bad film at all, either in
terms of Disney or in terms of decent SF. However, Disney has expanded
upon the line with "Zenon: the Zequel" which really is not bad at all.
slightly disney-formulaic, rebellious teen who just happens to be always
right, discovers that alien beings are fans of her favorite pop-star. Of
course, she upsets every imaginable applecart, but things turn out al
for the best.
Highly recommended for very realistic depictions of life in space in the
mid-21st century, slightly to be deprecated for representation of that
era's pre-adults in modern teen terminology, still this is a fine film
for the teen set and for thoughtful parents of rather young adults. I
rather recommend it. While the costumes are a rather fanciful
idealization of future fa****on straight out of Judy Jetson, the brief
exterior shots and animation are on a par with, and clearly inspired by,
Stanley Kubric's film _2001: A Space Odessey_.
Best of all, this appears to be headed towards being a series on the
disney cable TV channel, I can only hope it doesn't succumb to formulaic
writing and limitations of formula and format. Enjoy.
