I've found that Slakeware is actually the most "pure" linux system. After
using RH, Debian, Mandrake, as well as a few others, I enjoy Slakeware the
most. They use almost no propriatary software and everything is setup as
straight forword as possible. The is no heavy leaning to Gnome of KDE and
I use nether one. Presently, I'm using Fluxbox with no problem. The
installation is simple and very easy to get exactly what you want on the
system without a big runaround.
