Well, of course! First, there's my TV show, which certainly is all the
rage in the local domains. Inevitably, the fan base discusses me as I am
after all the centerpiece of their otherwise uninteresting lives.
Without me, what would they do? Go back to being themselves, only now
without anything to talk about. Sort of like "the Truman Show", when
Truman escapes, does the world change? Of course not, they just change
the channel.
Human nature in the modern media-driven world is such that if they stop
talking about ME, they will just be talking about someone else behind
_their_ back. Remember, nobody is anybody unless people talk about them
behind their back! Clearly if you're all talking about me behind my back
I am a person of great consequence in your existence.
Phear!

But I will have to do it at great length and mind-numbingly banal
detail. Entire graduating cl***** of deviant-psychologists will be bored
to death.
But that too might be best.
