Grisly has relation to Gristle.

Grizzly has relation to Grizzled.

Beware The Homonyms, they are not Synonyms!

Nor are they Antonyms.

A Grizzly can be Grisly, or rather what the Grizzly's been at, could be 
Grisly, and usually is.
