Mankind has been dealing with climate change ever since we appeared on 
the planet.  In fact, there have been much wilder swings in climate and 
they occurred before any substantial man made CO2 entered the 
atmosphere.  My issue is that the global warming alarmists want us to 
spend our limited resources in a futile attempt at trying to change the 
global climate.  IMO, we should be more concerned with mitigation which 
is what ALL species do when confronted with climate changes.  There is 
no conclusive evidence that CO2 is the primary engine causing warming or 
cooling on a global scale.  We just don't know one way or the other. 
The real threat to mankind is global cooling, not global warming. 
Cooling reduces habitable area and crop land for growing food and 
shrinks the growing season.

Mankind has had the good fortune to exploit a very calm climatic period 
the past 150 years and what we have seen is not the norm from a geologic 
standpoint.  During the past 20,000 years the sea level has fluctuated 
hundreds of feet in both directions.  To think we can effect global 
climate by our actions is foolish at this point in our development. 
Maybe we will when we reach the same technology level as the Star Trek 
series presents.  We need to figure out how to mitigate for climate 
change before trying to change the climate globally.  Otherwise, we are 
going to squander the limited resources we have on a futile effort and 
billions of people could die as a result.
