Rachel Bromwich: Trioedd Ynys Prydein

by "Malcolm Martin" <pleaseask@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 13, 2005 at 10:51 AM

Dear all

Having been away from this NG for some time - problems with my news server

to which I didn't have the time to try and find the answer - It may be
that
you are aware of the following. But I couldn't see it on any messages so:

Rachel Bromwich's revised work on The Triads of Britain (general
acknowledged as the leading work on the subject) is finally due to be out
on
25 November 2005. Having been promised it by University of Wales Press
for
the last 4 or 5 years "next Spring", it is now coming out for Christmas.
Good timing. If you know of it, I need say no more, other than give the
internet and ISBN references (see below). If you do not, but are
interested
in the early British (ie Welsh ) aspects of Arthur and others, or just in
early British stories and the process of their telling, then a book well,
well, worth getting. Bearing in mind the length of time we have had to
wait
for this, I suggest that you get an order in now if you are interested -
for
if this goes out of print (as the second edition did ) then it could be a
long, long, wait Anyway, makes a nice Christmas present from that person
to
whom you never know the answer to their question "What would you like for
Christmas"

http://www.uwp.co.uk/book_desc/1386.html

approx. pp 768 Demy Octavo Hardback November 2005
ISBN-10 0-7083-1386-8
ISBN-13 978-0-7083-1386-2
Price £65 (= about $100?)

If any of you in the land of Tir-na-nog have difficulty in getting it,
then
please let me know, and I will see what I can do to facilitate that. But
I
suspect UWP will have outlets over the ocean.

Kind regards

Malcolm Martin
