A question popped into my ignorant mind while reading the above: Could
"dux bellorum" be a description of *how* Arthur performed, rather than
*what* he performed? I.e., he was the leader in terms of results, not in
terms of directly telling the others what to do. Like the way we call
Elvis "the King of Rock", or the highest scoring player in some s****ts
the leader of that s****t.
