One of the first messages
to which I responded in this group
and which surfaced on occasion
had to do with stains, such as green
from mowing the lawn, grease from
gas stations, etc.. Folks loved them
as a mark of distinction.
I just got back from Wa****ngton DC.
It was raining and cold at the Zoo.
Around the Lincoln Memorial, walkways
are a little rough on the unconditioned sole.
At any rate, what I noticed was how
the sides of my heels tend to get much more
of a grease stain than the bottoms of my feet
due to how automobile carpets get dirty.
I've been aware of this for many years
but after driving a rental car it became clear
and curious in a particularly barefoot way.
