Was going to a local library today,
half-way there it dawned on me
that I'd forgotten to take any foot-gear.
Got some help searching for a book
and while checking out, a lady told me
that there was a rule.
I slapped my forehead and replied
that I knew it, but had forgotten and
didn't remember until half-way there.
She began to speak of not wanting
any books to fall and damage my toes.
I replied that if I was wearing thongs
the problem would remain.
What amazed me was how she then
gave up trying to defend the rule
and noted how some rules are stupid.
Maybe there's hope!
I hope there's hope.
