I think I understand.  There are a lot of reasons behind holding onto
one's independence.  Some folks just don't need to give it up.
However, I also know that it's incredibly scary to allow oneself to
depend on another and even scarier yet to give up one's autonomy.  It
isn't for everyone. *smiles*

I'm explaining things badly.  It's not that they were bad teachers per
se, it's just that I don't believe they had a very good grasp on the
service aspect of it and therefore weren't able to relate that to the
rest of us effectively.  I only now understand the service aspect
because of the M/s lifestyle I'm living.

That is definitely something they could have done better, focusing on
the service aspect.
