Secondly, I work in a trade that you can see the fruits of your labor.

35 yrs ago the man I apprenticed to told me, "If you stick with it and
put up with all the BS, someday you'll be your own boss and made
beautiful things" well, the old guy was right.
For years I labored for low wages doing very hard work, but I always
kept the old guys words in my heart. Yes, I am very fortunate.
My point is...find something you LIKE to do. IMO it's not the bucks you
make, but the satisfaction you get from your work. If you're willing to
live within your means (which most of us probably do or try to) it's
not that hard to do. Be patient...As I stated, I've been at this for
35yrs. Now I have my own little shop, build one piece at a time, can
refuse any jobs that require the use of endangered wood and have the
satisfaction of a job well done.
