MEN WITH NO RESURRECTION
Eccles. 3:18-22=20
I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God =
might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are =
beasts. 19For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; =
even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; =
yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a =
beast: for all is vanity. 20All go unto one place; all are of the dust, =
and all turn to dust again. 21Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth =
upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? =
22Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man =
should rejoice in his own works; for that is his ****tion: for who shall =
bring him to see what shall be after him?=20
Job 14:10-12=20
But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where =
is he? 11As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and =
drieth up: 12So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no =
more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.=20
Psalm 49:12=20
Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that =
perish.=20
Psalm 1:4-6=20
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth =
away. 5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor =
sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6For the Lord knoweth the =
way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.=20
Psalm 146:3-4=20
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is =
no help. 4His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that =
very day his thoughts perish.=20
Isaiah 26:14=20
They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not =
rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their =
memory to perish.=20
Eccles. 9:4-6=20
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living =
dog is better than a dead lion. 5For the living know that they shall =
die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a =
reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6Also their love, and their =
hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a =
****tion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.=20
Job 4:17-21=20
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than =
his maker? 18Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he =
charged with folly:=20
19How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation =
is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth? 20They are destroyed =
from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it. =
21Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even =
without wisdom.=20
Job 7:6-10=20
My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope. =
7O remember that my life is wind: mine eye shall no more see good. 8The =
eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: thine eyes are upon =
me, and I am not. 9As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he =
that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. 10He shall return no =
more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more.=20
Job 14:1-2=20
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. 2He =
cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, =
and continueth not.=20
Job 14:7-12=20
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout =
again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. 8Though the =
root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the =
ground; 9Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth =
boughs like a plant. 10But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth =
up the ghost, and where is he? 11As the waters fail from the sea, and =
the flood decayeth and drieth up: 12So man lieth down, and riseth not: =
till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of =
their sleep.=20
Job 20:4-8=20
Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth, 5That the =
triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for =
a moment? 6Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head =
reach unto the clouds; 7Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: =
they which have seen him shall say, Where is he? 8He shall fly away as a =
dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision =
of the night.=20
Psalm 92:7=20
When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of =
iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:=20
