Did you know that to dogs and wolves that thunderstorm sounds like
the sky is growling?

Thunderstorms are full of constant staccato subsonic booms and growls
that sound like a giant dog is walking in the sky with a regular pace,
and is paced by the others in the pack in the sky?

On occasion, they can also also hear supersonic whistles which seem to
come from higher in the clouds, or maybe farther back.

It must sound like you are being hunted by a pack of dogs and their
men. Of course it terrifies them; if you aren't part of the hunting
pack, then you might just be it's quarry.
