Another example: Join us in morbid fascination as we note that Ray
Haddad not only doesn't grasp that the behavior he defends is vile as he
ridicules people who believe otherwise, but that he believes he is being
*clever* in making his "points". This exchange is chock full of
CLASSICAL Ray Haddad tactics and self-screwing.
[NOTE: "modeling" refers to radio-controlled air models ]
Six_O'Clock_High: "Ray, Your comments about MY personal information
pertains to the issue at hand as slot car racing does to religion."
Ray Haddad: "Jim, Your comment here is not relevant. It has no meaning
whatever. [...]"
Six_O'Clock_High: "The issue is bringing my FAMILY into a modeling
discussion when your friends other arguments were proven to be
inaccurate and ineffective. If you feel it is good to include innocent
people in your fights to solve your problems, you are almost as 'good'
as the folks who took over the planes on 9/11/01. Godwin's Law not
withstanding."
Ray Haddad: "So, you placed your name on the public register in
thousands of places over the years you have been alive. You bought
property. You registered a car. You got married, had kids. [...] Then,
when some of the information that you put there comes to USENET, you
tell me that those putting it there are as bad as the people who killed
thousands of people.
"[...] I dare you to call one firefighter in NYC or one family member
of an American who lost their life in the Twin Towers and tell them how
poor Jim's wife had her telephone number listed in yet one more public
place and you are the same as them because of that. [...]"
Six_O'Clock_High: "For the record I equate freedom with the LACK of
terror. Terror is what you directly sup****t by standing behind the
publication of innocent peoples data as a reasonable way to argue
modeling issues. I find that position astounding for a man who claims
to have been a career military person."
Ray Haddad: "I am retired from 22 years in the US Military. That is no
claim, that is fact. Again, my military service is public record. [...]
[NOTE: see http://tinyurl.com/2p9n5m
regarding that lie]
"You can't have it both ways, Jim. Either you are a frightened man
who is in terror or you are a belligerent man who loves to argue and
find points to defend that are meaningless. It really is meaningless to
say that a page from the local phone book that contains your phone number
pasted on a bulletin board is an act of terror. [...]
"The internet white pages data on you was posted here. Big deal. It
was already posted on other parts of the internet by your choice. Then
it got posted here. Are you so frightened now because of that? Did any
evil befall you? Actually, you're probably happy it happened because it
gives you a fabulous straw man argument here."
Six_O'Clock_High: "Ray, I am glad you are in Australia, they can keep
the likes of you. The issue is NOT where and what information is
available about anyone. [...]"
Ray Haddad: "Jim, You are in a public place. I am, as well. What about
that do you fail to understand?"
Six_O'Clock_High: "Let me say it again, the issue is, was, and will be
a function of scope. Obviously you feel it is a good thing to take your
personal arguments to uninvolved innocent parties who happen to be
related by marriage."
Ray Haddad: "You are in a public place. I am, as well. What about that
do you fail to understand?"
Six_O'Clock_High: "In unequivocal terms, that says that you are lower
that whale feces. Unfortunately that is not a surprise as it seems to be
a common trait in with group you sup****t.
Ray Haddad: "[...] When you begin losing an argument, you obviously
feel a need to slip into making allegorical comments like that one
above. Do you take satisfaction in saying this?"
"[...] Making a point against your specious arguments is child's
play. I need no help from anyone. How about you? Who are you in a group
with? Accusing me of being in a group probably has its roots in your own
behavior."
Six_O'Clock_High: "ROFLOL! Thanks for the laugh of the day Ray [...]"
Ray Haddad: "I'm glad you are finally seeing the humor in your side of
the issue. For a while there, I thought you were serious about all this
privacy stuff."
"Six_O'Clock_High: "Let me clarify something, I understand that this is
a public forum. I also understand that any and all owner****p
information of anything much more substantial than a refrigerator is on
record somewhere that there is public access. Those are not issues."
Ray Haddad: "Wow. I'm sure glad you clarified what you are going to
clarify."
Six_O'Clock_High: "I understand that if you have access to public
information, you know it. I also understand that some of your kind feel
the desperate need to feel powerful and abusing what is generally
considered private information gives your twisted mind set some sort of
good feeling. That is your personal problem sir."
Ray Haddad: "Hang on, now. Are you a forensic psychologist or
something? Who needs this power? Do you? I surely don't. I just want
freedom, not power. Where do you draw the conclusion that I want power?
You're the one with a twisted plot going on in your mind. Somehow,
anyone who can look up your name, wife's name, address, phone number or
other details is sinister and twisted? Who gave you the right to then
tell us that wanting freedom from the thumb twisting likes of you is a
problem?"
Six_O'Clock_High: "No, the issue is that you feel it is acceptable to
use that type of information in an attempt to cow others when trying to
win arguments over non related subjects. I find that type of action
reprehensible, and as you already said that is MY privilege."
Ray Haddad: "Acceptable to whom? To you? How can anyone meet your
standards, Jim. One moment you are trying to be concilliatory as in the
above paragraphs"
[NOTE: "concilliatory"?! How deluded is Haddad?]
"and in the self same message you act condescending towards any opinion
other than your own. Not only that, but, you DO have the right to an
opinion and that IS your privilege. I am not the one saying that YOU
have to stop doing anything. It is YOU who demands that others stop
doing something. Namely, you demand that no detail of your PUBLIC life
be copied to this place in any form. That, sir, is unreasonable and NOT
your right.
"Your rights to privacy ended the day you were born. Anyone else can
make the mental leap to a lack of privacy that is beyond our control.
Why can't you? To blame us for any angst you feel over having your
wife's name mentioned in a message is just too precious for words.
Six_O'Clock_High: "The group of folks that think that method is a good
way to discuss subjects are generally lower than all forms of land based
vermin. You pick where you wish to be considered, I don't care."
Ray Haddad: "And your mindset seems to match the other totalitarians of
the USENET community known affectionately as NetCops. Go ahead, take
your vote, count them and if you lose, keep demanding a recount or
another vote until you get enough votes to win. If you do win, remember
that there is no way you can enforce what you just won. Don't you see
how silly your exercises and gyrations here are? There is NOTHING you
can do, so why continue to beat a dead horse or call me names? [...]"
