LIVE before you try to decipher the trick. He throws it PRETTY FAR
from the stage. "Rehearsed" the ball throw, to an accomplice?! It
doesn't matter if there are TEN accomplices. The odds are that someone
ELSE will reach over and catch it even IF the magician manages to
throw it perfectly in the direction of an accomplice. What then?
(Also, the ball is thrown TWICE among audience members) The entire
trick would be revealed!

placed in the front rows (50 people or so would be more then enough
even if you make a mestake) the cost of admition easly covers there
payment, they wouldnt even know more about they trick other then to
toss the ball at some other actor.
as far as why the actors would never speak up, why that would ruin
there job with him, and with some new outfit they can get new job with
him over and over again

ways. First you need to know a lot of video editing and how tracking
of images work because that's what this trick is about (automatic
image tracking) and editing masks. The only thing you were right was
how David and the guy disappear from the platform.

covers the cage, DC handles the lamp and moves it, then, the black man
goes into the platform. Then Copperfield loses the lamp at the end
giving it a strike so it swings during the time he goes into the
platform. When the sheet is withdrawn you can easily see the lamp is
still bouncing and swinging from a rope...
Please, more common sense Cosmowizard, in 2008 magic performances use
the same principle as always. You can't avoid physics rules in many
ways. Logic always wins.

- I like all of your videos, but I'm really disappointed with this
one. I've seen ****TAL live 2 times. Both times, I've watched the
platform from 2 different angles. The performers DO NOT crawl through
the platform in the manner you described, unless they can hide the
lumps they make. Also, the platform is about 20 feet long. My theory:
spring-loaded mirrors on the BOTTOM to give the platform more depth?

bumps slide along the platform (in the lower part of the mirror) just
before the sheet is uncovered.

you got the whole thing down, you just need to re-evaluate the
platform segment.
Take it from someone who has seen the show twice:
- the platform is 20 feet.
- bumps were not noticed in the live performance (i WAS looking -
especially the second time), and they are very hard to see in the
youtube video, if they are in fact bumps, and not some sort of
reflection from the camera angle changing.
maybe do a special on just some more platform theories...

bounces (humm wonder why) and theres smoke in the back with lights to
better cover up movement , I could BARELY tell any movement, if you
were looking at the side you'd probley not see much as well since the
lights and smoke cover so much.
