The following are "impact explosive" mixtures. A creative magician
could incor****ate these into his stage magic.
ARMSTRONG'S MIXTURE
This mixture is probably the most im****tant of all the impact
explosives. It is the ultimate "non-fuse" firework mixture. It is
made in a wet slurry in SMALL AMOUNTS. The potassium chlorate is
added last right before it is used. Armstrong's mixture is as follows:
-Potassium Chlorate 67 parts
-Sulfur 3 parts
-Red Phosphorus 27 parts
-Calcium Carbonate 3 parts
EXPLODING TARGET COMPOSIION
You know those exploding targets you can buy at the gun shop? This is
their composition:
-Potassium Chlorate (fine powder) 40 parts
-Sulfur Flour (fine powder) 40 parts
-Silica Sand (40-60 mesh powder 20 parts
-Dextrin (powdered) 5 parts
-Magnesium Carbonate (fine powder) 2 parts
TOY PISTOL CAP COMPOSITION
What the heck, it's just fun to know:
-Potassium Chlorate 68 parts
-Sulfur 25 parts
-Red Phosphorus 6 parts
-Dextrin 1 part
-Calcium Carbonate 2 parts
JAMES WEST'S EXPLODING SILVER BALL COMPOSITION
Do you remember that silver ball (about an inch and a half in
diameter) that James West kept in the tip of his gun holster? He'd
toss it at the bad guy and it would explode. Well, they really exist
and are made in Mexico. This is their composition:
-Potassium Chlorate 67 parts
-Arsenic Disulfide 33 parts
The above mixture is mixed with a few tablespoons of gravel and rolled
up in a paper ball, masking tape, and aluminum foil. For a more
stable device think "confined space" such as two spherical cardboard
cups glued together around the mixture and dipped several times into a
hardening solution.
TIRE BLOW OUT SIMULATOR
Take a cork and drill a 1/4" hole dead center on the smaller end. It
should be about 1/2" deep. Fill this hole with Armstrong's mixture
and cover with tissue paper to keep it in. Place under tire hole side
up. When the target backs over it it will explode (impact explosive).
FUN WITH INK PENS
Now, a few items from the spies handbook on chemistry.
RUSSIAN HEART ATTACK INK
100% solution of Hydrocyanic Acid is loaded into a device resembling a
writing pen (think syringe inside a pen). This is fired or sprayed
into the targets face. Causes almost instant cardiac arrest.
DMSO (sold in health food stores) is also sometimes mixed with cyanide
for even more rapid absorbtion into the skin.
NAUSEA INK #1
One ounce of Ipecac Syrup is concealed in a fountian pen. Pour into
target drink. Causes vomiting within 20 minutes.
NAUSEA INK #2
X-Prep liquid. Applied to drink as above causes the guy to **** his
pants within a few minutes. They give this to people who are about to
have a camera shoved up their rear end.
MICKEY FINN INK
Pentobarbital (brand name Nembutal) in a alcohol drink will render
target unconscious within minutes. One of the more popular "date
rape" drugs.
