Thus far in this series LEARY'S MASTER LISTS have dealt with stage
illusions. This post contains a number of magic tricks and smaller
illusions and effects that can be found in magic catalogs (past and
present). Most magic tricks are not patented so don't expect to find
everything. There are some very interesting items here, for example
patent #4,976,647 is Axtell's Erasable Animated Drawing Board (you
draw a face on a dry-erase board and it comes to life and you carry on
a conversation with it). Another good one is patent #2,400,982, which
is a magcician's locking slate. If you've got a lot of time on your
hands, these lists I'm posting contain hundreds of hard-core magic

I should also add this note: Tenyo does NOT patent every trick they
market. Tenyo has marketed dozens, perhaps hundreds of tricks in the
last 30 or 40 years. I don't now what their criteria are for patenting
a trick, but it probably has to do with it's unique nature. Most small
tricks cost more to patent and market than will ever be recouped.

This is a relatively short list of straitjacket and related restraint
