Nice. Sure, I posted that offer. People have to start somewhere, and
we're already spending a fortune just trying to get food,
trans****tation, and entertainment together for kids who have no HOME.
We're also giving away hundreds of dollars worth of magic tricks that
I'm sure many in this group would publicly denounce as "cheap plastic
junk" because they long ago forgot about the beauty and mystery of what
magic is supposed to be - and for a kid, whether that awe and amazement
comes from a nicely folded two cent piece of paper or a thousand dollar
gimmick is completely immaterial. But then, who am I to say?
Apparently, I had mistakenly believed that there are magicians who work
JUST for tips, therefore you'd think there'd be at least SOME magicians
who'd want to help out by doing a fifty dollar show (PLUS THE TIPS)-
either because they're already well off and don't need it (in this case)
or because they are trying to make a start, especially since we would
have supplied them with whatever materials they needed for the
performance; but, based on the tone of your response, my offer was taken
as an insult. I can only wish I was so im****tant that I could afford to
be insulted at the drop of a hat like that... but I guess that's just my
misfortune.
I bet for $300 bucks I can build a small blue room with no help at all
from "The Magic Community", of which I have been a sup****ter of for
nearly a decade. I put in a whole back ****ch for that. I'll figure
something out for the gimmicks. I can see this place hasn't changed one
bit - and obviously, it was indeed a mistake on my part to take the
chance on asking. Thank you for your generous help.
